Here comes Trouble… with a digital video camera in tow. Courtney Trouble that is, queer porn director and star extraordinaire. The San Francisco-based Trouble has been making a name for herself since 2002, with the creation of her baby NoFauxxx.com (now the oldest running queer porn site on the web) and in more recent years as she has taken the reins on a bunch of avant-garde feminist porno flicks.

When she’s not accepting awards and accolades (including SF Guardian’s 2009 Best of the Bay Queer Porn and a Feminist Porn Award for “Most Deliciously Diverse Cast”), Trouble is behind the camera, giving direction to some of the hottest stars to grace the porno screen, including Jiz Lee, Syd Blakovich and April Flores, to name a few. Her first movie, Roulette, has just hit HotMovies4Her and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this fabulously fierce femme queer pornographer and the super hot fruits of her labor.

1. How (and when) did you get started in the industry?
I’m not exactly sure when my involvement with making feminist, queer imagery became an involvement in the adult industry, because at first it was an art project focusing on expressing “real” desires to equalize my experiences as a full-time fantasy-based (aka not-real) phone sex operator. I can’t pinpoint a decisive moment when I realized that No Fauxxx was a breathing entity in the porn industry. Except maybe right now, with my first film being released world-wide on a mainstream (and yet, extremely sex-positive!) level.

2. If you weren’t in the adult industry, what would you be doing?
I was 18 when I started doing phone sex, working from home. I taught myself web design and digital photo editing and printing in my down time during my 4-5 years. I went to school for photography, I actually have two degrees. I think if I weren’t lucky enough to be surviving (meagerly) off my art, I would still be doing something with photography or web design more commercially.

Long before there was a marketplace of women making dirty movies for women, there was Candida Royalle. Just about 25 years ago, Royalle moved from in front of the camera to behind the lens and began creating porn she was interested in watching with her studio, Femme Productions. For the last few years, I’ve been seeing these “Porn For Women” books floating around. Instead of dirty pictures, the books are full of men doing housework, taking care of babies and being really interested in what women have to say. The latest of this series is Porn For Women Of A Certain Age, a collection of pictures and phrases specifically for the more mature gals. The Philadelphia Trans Health Conference and a Look at Trans Porn!

Last Friday I spent the day hanging out at the 8th Annual Philadelphia Trans-Health Conference and got my learn on about all the new medical and health info going on in the transgender community. This conference is near and dear to my heart and I’ve been either attending or volunteering for a bunch of years. This year I was lucky enough to not only go to learn, but to also preach the porno gospel and hand out free 30-minute cards for HotMoviesForHer.com.

While I was super excited to pass out our cards and turn people on to great porno, I wasn’t quite sure how it would go over. I mean, we are HotMoviesForHer.com, so what about all the people I wanted to talk to that don’t identify as her? I certainly didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable. And the fact is that we have some of the most awesome female-to-male trans porn that’s on the market and more hot queer porn than you can shake a stick at!

Well, turns out I just need to quiet my buzzing Virgo brain more often, because no one gives a crap about a name when you are giving them access to free hot porn. We could be called BirdSharkFishButt.com and folks would still come a-running at the mere mention of hot queer humping. That said, everyone that I spoke with was super excited about HotMoviesForHer and what we have to offer. Maybe it’s because I’m such an awesome salesgal or maybe porn just sells itself (more likely), but I was out of cards by the time I left for the evening. And had the promise of a few emails on their way asking me for movie suggestions.

I also spent the day going to a bunch of different workshops on all sorts of topics, including Queering Genderqueer (looking at the gender spectrum in a way that includes every identity and presentation of gender/androdgyny out there), creating positive and educational media images for the trans community, working with trans youth, and an awesome kinky sex and trans bodies presentation, which was super informative and definitely HOTTT!

At the end of the kink workshop they asked for annoucements and stuff like that, so of course I got up and let everyone know that I have a bunch of free porn minutes and to come see me. Like I said above, I got to talk to a bunch of rad people about queer porn and the kinds of hot hot movies we have to offer. Sex Tips! Starting At The Bottom: An Intro to Anal Play, Part 1

As I mentioned a couple of time in the last week, I facilitated a workshop on anal play for a local sex toy store. Not only did the workshop go wonderfully, the people that attended had awesome questions to ask. It was a great help to have questions asked to make sure that all their fears and needs were being met and discussed, but it also showed me how very much people want to know specifics about sex and have no way of getting the info unless they are given it. Ok, sure, they can go online and look it up, but does that mean they will be getting accurate, non-judgemental sex information? Not necessarily.

So, thanks to all the awesome questions I recieved, I decided to offer up my workshop handout to HM4Her readers to make sure that you guys are getting the best of the best when it comes to sex education. This info will be cut into two parts - there is a lot to learn and I want to make sure I have enough room to get it all out!

What what in the butt, let’s get to it and start at the bottom!

To begin, I thought it would be good to talk about why people have anal sex. The simple reason: because it feels good! Ok, sure it feels good, but there’s more than just that. The butt is a totally overlooked orifice that is rich in nerve endings and lots of tissue that is just waiting to be stimulated and excited. Because anal sex has such a taboo around it, the whole experience can feel naughtier and more risque, which can make it even hotter to some people. Plus, it can take a lot of trust when it comes to a taboo experience, so some people consider anal sex to be more intimate and only want to it explore it with that extra special someone. No matter how you view anal sex, it can be an exciting and pleasurable experience. As anal sex expert Tristan Taormino says: an emotionally charged act + a super sensitive spot fill of nerve endings = amazing orgasms! Can you go wrong with that?

Fears

Anal sex can be intimidating or scary to some people, especially if they’ve heard stereotypes or negative experiences from other people.

Here is a list of a few stereotypes and fears that we came up with in the workshop:

- You can damage your butt and have to wear diapers.
- If you like anal sex and you are a guy, it means you’re gay.
- You might have to deal with poop.
- Anal sex hurts really bad and I always will.
- Your ass is only an exit.

With all the stigmas and stereotypes, no wonder so many people have so many hang ups about anal sex! By the end of this Anal 101, I will adress all of these issues/stereotypes and try to put our fears to rest.
