THE EDUCATION BOOK THAT CATALYZES A NATION

This book is the long overdue catalyst for change. Finally, teachers, parents, and students can be on the same page. The 15 stumbling blocks of failure elucidates the pivotal crisis in American education. The blame game is over: Great teachers and great students are in a malfunctioning education system. There are no beneficiaries. The school system is a war zone of a few heroes, many casualties (the graduating wounded who are afflicted with the pain of inadequacy) and the fatalities (the drop outs). According to Sharon Rose Sugar, students don’t learn how to succeed, they only learn how to survive the system. The brightest students in America are being destroyed.

Fortunately, the book also outlines the critical paradigm shift that has to be implemented to reinvent the American Education system to transform the the 15 stumbling blocks into stepping stones.

Moreover, Ms Sugar pioneered the new learning technology called
ACANDY Processing Skills (EVERY DAY, AN EASY http://www.straightagrades.com) that transforms borderline students into Straight-A Grade students.
BRAVA!

Book Excerpts: EVERY DAY, AN EASY A, http://www.straightagrades.com

1. The First Week of School
It only takes the first week of school for a student to
fall behind and start playing catch-up.

2. The Critical Hours of the School Day
The critical hours of your child's school day are
from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m: study room, study schedule,
study strategy, study snacks, homework, essays,
research papers and test preparation.

3. The Report Card
The report card tells you about the schoolwork your
child does at home (3-11 p.m.): homework assignments,
research reports, and test preparation (class participation 5%).

4. The Warning Sign: C Grade
The first C Grade is a sign that your child needs help ASAP. Bad grades are like dirty diapers. It is a parent's responsibility to clean up a child's dirty diapers and bad report card. Children cannot raise themselves. It is never the child’s fault. Doing well in school is all about the facts, namely, the retrieval of the facts and the return of the facts to the teacher.

5. Bad Grades, Pain, Disconnection and Permanent Records
A bad grade feels like a punch in the face. A bad grade hurts. Your child is in pain. Your child’s self-esteem suffers. Your child disconnects from the class. Your child becomes blocked. Your child becomes depressed. Your child becomes enraged. Your child acts out. Your child finds escapes: TV, internet, mp3 player and video games (sex, drugs, and rock’n’roll). Your child is labeled ADHD. Don’t wait for a bad grade to become a permanent record on a report card. Your child needs ACANDY Processing skills.

6. ACANDY Processing Skills: Earn an A Grade Today
There is a new learning technology called ACANDY Processing SKills, that transforms borderline students into Straight-A-Grade students. Students earn A Grades on the next test, EVERY DAY, AN EASY A.

7. Good Grades Deserve Great Rewards
When your child is doing poorly in school, your child is in pain. Punishment and fear humiliate a child. Rewards and incentives reinforce good behavior.

8. Academic Athletes Require Energy to Learn
A regular bedtime and a nutritious breakfast of oatmeal give your child the ENERGY to learn: focus, organize, listen, think, write, edit, proofread, rewrite, research, memorize, and test.

9. There is No Such Thing As Too Much Love
A triple daily dose of, “I LOVE YOU AND I AM VERY PROUD OF YOU" is food for the soul.

10. In 24 Hours, You Can Get Back on the Grade A Track
GRADES: The 80/20 Rule: Grades are the percentage of facts that your child sends back to the teacher on a test. If your child can send back 80% of the facts on a test for a B grade, then your child can send back the remaining 20% of the facts for an A grade.
