We were at my grandmother’s house last weekend. Note: My great-grandmother is 93 – we go there a lot – you know, I want to make sure I visited her within one week in case she dies. It’s a guilt thing. I grew up listening to her tell me she wished she spent more time with her mother before she died and now….it’s too late. She’s a smart one, yes she is!

First off – I love this show. Watching teenagers cope with kids touches the black, dark part of my heart that laughs when people trip. Ok, I don’t really laugh when people trip unless they’re wearing four-inch Manolos or Christian Laboutin shoes (the $400 shoes with the red soles so everyone knows they cost an arm and a leg.) I've been watching this campaign more closely than ever before. Yup, that sounds dramatic, but really - on one side you have McCain, the anti-christ, and that other guy we're pretty sure isn't going to make it. On the other side...a black guy, a white chick, and a guy who became famous for his $400 haircut. If that doesn't sound like a joke that involves "three people walk into a bar" you must not have been born with a sense of humor.

Sarkis Yan, a 17 year old teen, was denied a kidney transplant by her insurance carrier stating it was “an experimental procedure.” The insurance company changed its mind at the eleventh hour, but it was too late and the teen died. Ok, this is really bunk and I don’t want anyone to think that I think she deserved to die, or that the insurance company is right. Just saying that up front. But they’re suing for MURDER! Like with forethought and foresight.
