As I look at the astrological
chart for today, I’m immediately struck by how spread out all the
planets are — splashed all over the wheel, as it were. This may seem
well balanced, but it can actually scatter our energies in all
different directions. Focusing on any one subject for an extended
period of time is going to be iffy now, if not flat-out impossible. If
you’re feeling distracted, don’t fight it. Keep your sanity by
scheduling several shorter tasks throughout your day, including at
least a few breaks for socializing.

Scattered Energy.
Social Connections.
With the Moon in Libra, the sign of cooperation and social connections, good feelings rule today. Toss in the Sun and Venus both in Taurus, the most earthy and sensual of all the signs, and you get the perfect energy for lunch dates, parties and romantic getaways. Any situation that throws people together has a high chance of success. Business meetings are especially productive, and potentially quite lucrative. There’s just no excuse for avoiding other people today.
Expansion.
The Moon is growing larger by the day, building toward its fullest point. I always think of this lunar phase as being like a pregnant woman. Culmination and release will come at the Full Moon, but for now, there’s nothing to do but get bigger and bigger. Despite the growing sense of excitement permeating our lives, this can be a very uncomfortable feeling! It’s a force that’s bigger than any one person. Perhaps you have a project at the ‘can’t turn back now, must move forward’ stage. If so, proceed with energy and confidence!
Proceed With Caution.
There could be some very confusing energy in effect today, so proceed with caution. Don’t fall for anything that sounds too good to be true. Here in San Francisco, we get a lot of fog. And when you’re driving, there are certain things you’re supposed to do when you encounter dense fog: Slow down, but don’t stop. Don’t turn on your high beams — use the low beams instead. Be extra alert, since you can’t see very far in front of you. With today’s Sun-Neptune square in full, confusing effect, these would all be wise practices on a metaphoric level. Stay alert, communicate as slowly and clearly as possible, and don’t fall for anything that sounds too good to be true.
Mental Efforts.
Mental efforts are highlighted today as the Moon moves through Virgo, a sign recognized for sharp intelligence and devotion to its commitments. Most people work quite effectively by themselves under this influence, but since most people are feeling task-oriented and interested in efficiency, it’s not a bad day for meetings, either. Just make sure you stick to the agenda and keep track of time. The impending Sun-Neptune square could create confusion or pretty distractions.
