BlogFest 2012 Day 1 Cont'd: The Savant Experience & Savoir Beds

The Savant Experience

After we went to The Kips Bay Show House, Thom Filicia graciously hosted along with The Savant Experience an after party; the show room is spectacular! Thom Filicia designed the space and filled the spaces with his furniture line.

The Savant Experience is a showroom designed in 2 different sections showcasing it's whole house systems, smart systems, etc: 1. similar to a hotel set up with lobby, bar, conference room, hotel room 2. a Manhattan home with kitchen, living, bedroom, bath.  Savant Systems works can be integrated with Lutron, and is the only Apple based home control, automation, and media system.

Below is a description of what Savant Systems is:

Savant designs, develops and manufactures a complete suite of integrated solutions that have defined the modern age of home automation, commercial control, entertainment and communications. These products deliver an array of applications and services beyond traditional control and automation functionality, such as multi-room audio and video, advanced digital audio and video processing, extremely flexible and scalable audio and video switching, digital media server and jukebox capabilities, telephony, and an array of integrated applications and services.

The world’s only Apple®-based home control, automation, and media system, Savant was the first company to introduce a native iPad®, iPhone®, and iPod touch® application delivering complete control and automation. Savant also pioneered On-TV Menu control with TrueCommand™— transforming any HD display into a "control portal"  delivering user interaction previously available only through dedicated touch panel devices.

In addition to the numerous innovative automation and multizone audio/video products, Savant provides an open-programmable, intelligent control and a media management software solution called RacePoint Blueprint™ that configures and controls any media component or sub–system without writing a single line of code.

If you are ever in NYC, you must stop by this incredible showroom and check out their technology yourself.

Master Bedroom, wall facing it, had a 3-paneled glass sliding door that was a TV.  The doors led you to the bathroom.  Incredible!

 Thom Filicia greeting us.

After The Savant Experience party, we headed over to Savoir Beds.  Savoir Beds is a high-end luxurious mattress and bed company from the UK.  The first beds were introduced at the prestigious and luxurious The Savoy Hotel in London.  Every piece is hand made, ranging from the actual mattress itself to the headboard, baseboard & frame.  Also, each piece is signed by the craftsman that made it.  You have a choice in the mattress being covered with cashmere or cotton, or you can COM!  The tufts in the mattress have a little rosette made of leather (those little details).

The Number 1 Bed is their best seller, and let me tell you, I know why, super comfortable!!  Also, when they make a king size bed instead of putting the framing in the middle lengthwise, they cut it horizontally (not in the middle), so you do not get a lump.
