Thursday, March 6, 2014 Does blogging bring out your best or worst self?

Blogging brings out my best self. It gives me a sense of accomplishment. It helps me be a better writer and a better editor. I am a perfectionist. Blogging has taught me to let go and let the writing take over, but I still edit and edit again. Sometimes, being a perfectionist is not a bad thing.

Blogging gives me a sense of community. I enjoy participating in writing memes and reading what other bloggers have written about the same subject. Reading the different points of view gives me new perspectives; it is like seeing through another’s eyes. It always amazes me to find that someone feels the same way I do about a subject; like a kindred soul.

I enjoy blogging and sharing personal feelings and thoughts.  In some ways, I look at blogging like I would a journal. It has helped me let out and let go of grievances, things I cannot control, and look at life with a new perspective. I enjoy reading other blogs that share personal feelings, along with personal experience.

I have been a blogger for 15 months. Looking back at my first few posts, I can see that blogging has helped me grow; not only to be a better writer, but to be a better person.
