Bloganthropy asks an excellent question: "Should Bloggers Be Paid for Corporate Charity Campaigns?" What is a corporate charity campaign? It's when a business supports a cause, sometimes asking bloggers to spread word of their campaign on their blog. Many bloggers ask for payment or compensation when writing about a product. But what should they do when that "product" is actually a charity even though it's sponsored by a corporate entity? Bloganthropy points out:

At a time when bloggers are trying to define what it is they “do,” adding charity into the mix creates another layer of complexity.

This post gives bloggers questions they should be asking themselves before they commit to helping spread word for a company about their cause campaign.

Corporate charities and foundations have paid staff. No one volunteers to run these, they are paid executives. Writers should be paid a fair wage for services rendered, and bloggers are writers.
