We are pleased to officially announce that, thanks to the generous folks at iRobot, BlogHer will once again host an on-site Internet Cafe and Bookstore at BlogHer '08. Which means that the BlogHer Bookstore will again be stocking, selling, and scheduling signings of books written by you.
If you have written (or contributed) to a book that you would like for us to offer for sale at the BlogHer Bookstore, please let us know!
This year's iRobot Cafe & Bookstore will be located in an easy-to-access space, and will be featuring a free espresso bar, cafe tables, and wifi -- not to mention a few scooting robots -- along with our "mini-store." The store will be managed by Barnes & Noble Booksellers, and we'll be working very closely with them to ensure that we offer titles that are not only relevant to women bloggers, but also written by them.
If you'd like for us to include your book and potentially schedule a time for you to do a book signing, here's what we need from you:
We will again be stocking the bookstore and assigning book-signing times on a first-come, first-available basis. We would love to include everyone, but our store size and hours are limited given the constraints of the conference.
BlogHer is excited to have this opportunity to promote our community's authors, and look forward to seeing you at the Cafe. Thanks to Barnes & Noble for helping make this possible, and especially to our gracious host, iRobot, for their support of all our BlogHers.

next year!
My book will be ready in time for the 2009 conference! Whoo hoo! Sorry for the crowing, just passed a major deadline and am feeling really, really relieved.
I have to admit that I got myself through some rough patches, imagine my book on the table with others at the conference!

My first book will be out in July!
Way back when BlogHer went through its big redesign and re-launch, I proudly served as the CE for Travel & Recreation before taking over when Koan retired from Feminism & Gender. (Many kudos to Pam for the great work she does with Travel now!!!) So I am extra excited to note that my first book will be out in July, and it is related to travel. It's called Off the Beaten (Subway) Track and is a travelogue/guidebook about unusual places to visit and things to do in New York City. Hopefully, there will be some space for it, even though it is only tangentially related to blogging.

I'm hoping to get my copy SIGNED, Suzanne
And I think you should write the same style of book for Chicago....

I can't wait to check out Off The Beaten
(Subway) track.
And you should come to L.A.! There's all kinds of cool stuff off of our subways stops - not to mention that the stations themselves are artistically amazing. I don't think there's a book focused like yours, but I certainly wish there was.
I often wish I had a good guide to L.A. by subway stop.

LA is chock full of good stuff
I don't know much about your subway system, but I'd love to explore it. I was in LA for work in April 2006, and I fell completely in love with the Shriner Temple and statue near UCLA. (Or is it USC?) I admit to being predisposed to loving that due to my obsession with Masons, but I digress. I don't think that is on a subway, though.
Still, how fun would it be to collaborate? You've got my interest piqued.

Woot for all of you.

Thanks everyone!
I hope it is as fun to read as it was to research and write. (And Denise, my family also thinks that I should focus on Chicago next... Sadly, my publisher actually already as a book called "Alternative Chicago," which looks pretty good.)

I think I have that and am not thrilled. Or if I don't have it then it is because I wasn't thrilled. I think yours would be better. But, I'm sort of biased.

You and my mom...
seem to think a lot alike! :) Actually, I told my family all about you and they are excited to meet you this summer. But not at Jimmy John's... Maybe I'll have to come up with a more exotic meeting place than DQ.

Thank you for this
Thank you for this opportunity. My book has been out for about 2 months now, and I have yet to see it on a bookshelf or in stores (we live way out in the country.) It will be amazing to see it there on the tables.
