Price Discrepencies
None of the "from" prices are available from the KLimpton. When clicking on Book Now for any of the properties, not once does the cheap price show available. The cheapest at the first hotel which shows From $161 is actually $368 per night.
Same problem here
I can't get it to work, either. I called the reservation support hotline, and there are no blocks set aside at any of the hotels for BlogHer. :(

Complimentary Internet
I wonder if you can ask The Westin to offer complimentary Internet like all these other hotels are offering? They will be charging $14.95 per day (even in the lobby) for internet access. It seems when you are already paying over $200 a night, Internet should be included. Is there anything you can do???

Man, it seems to happen with any hotel in any city.
We have sent urgent email to the kind, lovely Kimpton folk, asking them to fix ASAP.

Just an FYI
There are still rooms available at the Westin St. Francis that are less than the normal rate.
If you go to the Westin/Starwood site here:
http://tinyurl.com/6kbgcy
You can still qualify for the "Buy 2 get the 3rd night free" promotion for people arriving Th/F/Sa stays. You can get a single for $598 for 3 nights or a double for $738 for 3 nights.

another option
My friend and I are staying at the Hotel Carlton about 5ish blocks away from the Westin. It's an adorable boutique hotel and seems reasonable if anyone wants to check it out.

try the union square plaza hotel
The best rate I found in the area for a room with free wifi was the Union Square Plaza Hotel- rooms still available as of today 7/8 and I got a double with wifi for $79 per night. I think a queen or two twins are $89. It seems nice with victorian feel and simple rooms. Contact info is:
www.usphotel.com and the phone number is 415-776-7585
good luck and see you there! If you have a car, as i will, I am told there is a garage about a block from the hotel which charges around $20 per 24 hours- this is VERY good.

Checking on those booking issues
Hi All -
I'm the liason for Kimpton who is working on the BlogHer special. I'm going to check into these descrepancies mentioned by Adriennevh and Suzanne. You should be able to get these rates advertised, and I'll check to see why the booking # doesn't know about the deal either.
I'll get back to you as soon as I have the information.
Thanks for commenting about this!
~Li
*update - just spoke with Kimpton, we're aiming for a resoltuion of this issue by EOD today (PST).

booking issues
Hi Li,
If this helps, here's the message I got when I tried to book at any of the hotels:
"The rate you have searched for is unavailable. Please see below for available rates."
I called the reservation support line a few nights ago, and a very nice man told me that there were no blocks of rooms set aside for BlogHer, which is why I couldn't book under that rate.

The dates! The problem was the dates!
OK, so when I went through this step by step to document what was not working, I discovered that the default dates that the booking site opened with did not match those of the conference, and that is why the booking did not work. So, it is all systems go.
Thanks!!!

rate hike, and still not working!
So now the rates have dramatically increased, but I still cannot find any of the advertised rates on the link.
