Ohhhhhhh, BlogHers. The time is nigh. Today we are announcing our BlogHer '10 Call for Volunteers!

We’re looking for a few good women (hey men: we like you, too!) who are interested in working at BlogHer ’10. In exchange, we’ll give you free admission to the conference, which includes all keynotes, break-out sessions, breakfasts, lunches and cocktail parties ($300 value).

All BlogHerships are designed to cover registration only, and do not include travel expenses.

BlogHer is staffing three positions:

Registration Desk Helpers: This job encompasses more than being a friendly face – Registration Desk Helpers have the difficult task of coordinating check-in for more than 1,500 attendees, providing badges, tote bags and maps, answering myriad questions and being a general know-it-all (or at least knowing where to find the answers). The estimated time commitment is three (3) hours per day.

LiveBloggers: Can you type quickly? Do you have a knack for remaining unbiased? In this position, volunteers will create an official record of assigned sessions for both attendees and non-attendees to reference. You must transcribe the session as it plays out, not summarize or editorialize the discussion between panelists and attendees. LiveBloggers must use their own wi-fi enabled laptops. The estimated time commitment is two sessions (2.5 hours) per day.

Mic Wranglers: We won't require long legs or ballerina-esque moves, but Mic Wranglers will need to maneuver through rooms to deliver the microphone to attendees who want to make their voices heard. This task is especially important because it also affects audio recordings, so you'll need to be quick as a flash. Or at least quick-ish. The estimated time commitment is two sessions (2.5 hours) per day.

If you’re interested, we recommend applying today for one of the very few, highly coveted BlogHerships. But be warned: The application process closes February 15th. Good luck!

I'm so bummed I let this slip under my radar! Should anyone back out, I would love to apply. Will keep an eye out for the following year.

...whether the answer is yes or no.

And they started going out last night, but it's possible not all went out. There was quite a big volume to send.

I'd give it a few more hours this morning, and then email jes@blogher.com if you don't hear.

I have the same question as others now... will you only recieve an e-mail if you've been chosen?  Or will everyone who  applied get notification with a yes or no?

Thanks!

Colleen

I have the same comment as supermomplace. If I haven't received notification, does that mean I need to snap up my early bird registration today??

Let me know!

So if one didn't get an email that mean she better go buy her ticket quick before she misses the early bird registration?

All applicants will be notified by February 23rd, to still allow those who were not selected to take advantage of Early Bird registration prices.

Let us know if you have other questions!

Hi Lynn,

BlogHerships are for BlogHer '10 only, not for BlogHer Business '10. Great question - thank you for helping us clarify!

It says the application process closes February 15th... and I already applied.  I'm just wondering when you will notify people if they have been chosen or not.

Let's just say I'm a little excited about the whole possibility of actually going to BlogHer.

Does your need for volunteers extend to Blogher Business Conference too or just Blogher '10 (3 days in NYC)?   Thanks
