BlogHer '11: Came for the blog, stayed for the bloggers

We've finally had a chance to catch our collective breath after returning from BlogHer '11 San Diego a week and a half ago. Below each of our conference stories, enjoy!

Amy & Amber at the BlogHer '11 CheesburgHer Party!

An Ode to BlogHer ‘11 by Amber

I left PDX in the early morn
With visions of San Diego sunny and warm

‘Twas the BlogHer conference we sought to fill our minds
And to meet bloggers from all over and of all different kinds

Thursday I ate, brainstormed, soaked up Vitamin D
Took naps, then to the Expo—what a sight to see!

There was demos and people and samples galore
Different intriguing sponsors spread across the floor
(And so much swag to pack back my shoulder was sore)

I mixed and mingled but quick to bed I went,
For an early rise was in my future was imminent

At the cool crack of dawn to the harbor I strolled
To run a 5K with others so bold

What a beautiful morning and a beautiful place
My distraction made me quick—but this wasn’t a race

Action-packed sessions, a flashmob to boot
Networking with others and snacking on fruit

Later sparkles and dancing and new friends were in store in store
Good thing DJ Skribble got us all on the dance floor

Second full day, most people are moving a little slow
Though still so much to learn and absorb before we go

The air buzzed with stories, encouragement and empowerment
All by some of the most amazing women I’ve ever met

The atmosphere was lively, the keynotes were inspired,
And I ate one last cheeseburger before we retired

So did I like BlogHer11? Yes like, but more like LOVE
It’s a network of strong women I’m proud to be part of

I will speak its praises and make the most of new connections
I’ll be back next year, and you’re coming too, no objections.
