If you're heading down to San Diego for BlogHer '11, think about integrating some sports and recreation into your plans. Before, during and after the conference, there are ample opportunities to get your game on. San Diego truly has one of the world's most ideal climates. Add to that more than 70 miles of coastline, and you'll definitely want to tag on an extra day or two to take in an event or experience the great outdoors.
If you can't make it through the weekend without an endorphin rush (and you're an early morning person) the BlogHer 5K takes place on Friday, August 5th at 6:30 AM. The run/walk is a great way to kick off the conference.. Sign up for the BlogHer 5K here. If you can't make it, you can always take a run on your own by following the same route.
Not a runner? Join an early morning yoga class on Friday, led by popular San Diego-based yoga instructor Amy Caldwell, on the water-view terrace of the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina at 7am. Appropriate for all skill levels, the yoga class will motivate you to make regular movement a part of your daily routine. (Attendance is first come, first serve)
