*****UPDATE: The Call for Volunteers for BlogHer '12 is Officially Closed.  Volunteer applicants were informed via email on Tuesday, February 21st.  If you applied and did not recieve an email please email Rachel@blogher.com*****

Are you itching to go to BlogHer '12, but money is a little too tight? Sign up to be a volunteer today and if accepted you will receive a complimentary pass!

Every year we strive to give you the best possible conference -- one that tops last year and the year before! This year we want to do the same, but we need your help. Volunteer as a mic wrangler or registration desk helper and you will not only be helping us make a great conference, but you will also get a free pass! Apply here for your BlogHership.

What is a BlogHership, you ask? BlogHerships are a way for people who cannot afford the conference pass to a BlogHer event to still attend. BlogHerships are always volunteer positions at the conferences. If we are asking for a significant amount of your time, effort or elbow grease to get something done at the conference, then we will compensate you with a full conference pass. All BlogHerships are designed to cover the $198 registration fee only, and do not include travel expenses.

Read more about the various volunteer positions below.

  • Mic Wranglers: Movers and shakers apply here! Mic Wranglers will need to maneuver through rooms to deliver the microphone to attendees who want to make their voices heard. This task is especially important because it also affects audio recordings, so you'll need to be able to move about the room quickly. The estimated time commitment is two sessions (2.5 hours) per day.

  • Registration Desk Helpers: This job encompasses more than being a friendly face -– Registration Desk Helpers have the critical task of coordinating check-in for 4,000 attendees, providing badges, tote bags and maps, answering myriad questions and being a general know-it-all (or at least knowing where to find the answers). The estimated time commitment is three (3) hours per day.

If you are interested in a BlogHership, don’t delay; you have until January 31, 2012 to apply.

Now for the Conference details:

When: August 2-4, 2012

Where: Hilton New York- 1335 Avenue of the Americas, New York, New York 10019

Book your hotel now! We have a special rate at the Hilton New York for our VIB (very important bloggers).

See you in New York!!!

I could definitely use something else to focus my mind and my energies on. I am so happy you are coming back to NYC. I attended BlogHer 10 and was happy to hear you are coming back to my hometown for BlogHer12!

This is for me! Robert is even worried that we won't be able to afford BlogHer this year with all the medical stuff. I'm off to check out the application now!

As of right now I haven't been able to purchase my ticket. I was worried the price would jump to the non-early bird rate before I found out, hence the reasoning for wanting to purchase early (that or it sellling out) and I defintley can't afford the non-early bird rate. :\

Lisa Goldsberry Collins We call our volunteer positions BlogHerships because we use them like scholarships for people who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend. So, preference is given to those who have not purchased tickets. - Denise

Quick Question I notice that those accepted won't be notified until February 21st or later....if I purchase my ticket now and happen to get accpeted, is it refundable? I planned on purchasing my ticket by the end of the month... :)
