BlogHer ’13 Program Elements Announcement Timeline

BlogHer Original Post

We have good news, great news, new news, and just so much news from the programming team! The schedule for this week's announcements regarding BlogHer ‘13 conference program elements is below:

Schedule Update: BlogHer ’13 Break-out Agenda
As you probably know, today is the day we’re scheduled to announce the preliminary break-out programming at BlogHer ’13. We need just a few more days to get everything ready for the big announcement, so we’re officially delaying the announcement until Wednesday, January 16th. If you submitted to the Call for Ideas, you will still receive a private notification as to the status of your submission before we announce to the public on Wednesday.

This announcement will include the schedule for the Beginning and Advanced Monetization & Marketing track, the Beginning and Advanced Tools & Technology track, the Photo & Video track, the Interests & Identity track, the Politics & Activism track, and the Writing: Pitch & Publish track.

Schedule Update: Room of Your Own submissions for BlogHer ‘13
This schedule update means that we will wait to open submissions to the Room of Your Own track until after the break-out program is published. Since 2005, the BlogHer Room of Your Own has given registered conference attendees an additional way to make their conference experience their own. Read more about the origins of Room of Your Own here, and watch for the opening announcement now on Thursday, January 17th.

Programming Update

Additional tracks during the main BlogHer ’13 conference
As noted in our call for ideas, we are also bringing back the two-day Geek Bar, expanding the Writing Lab to two days, and adding a new half-day Style & Beauty mini-con. The programming for these tracks is still in development (as is the sign-up process… expect improvements there!), and will be released over the next two months, between now and the week of April 16th.

Registration opens Wednesday for BlogHer’s Pre-conference days on Thursday July 25th
Wednesday this week will be a big day, not just because we’re publishing the break-out schedule for the main conference, but because we’ll be opening registration for the pre-conference days that take place on Thursday, July 25th.

Thursday’s adjunct programming at BlogHer is all about focused education and networking in smaller groups. Pathfinder Day will be back for its third year of helping you center yourself and set your goals for the rest of the conference and the coming year. The first HealthMinder Day was such a success that we’re bringing it back again to deliver information and education about the latest online tools and gadgets designed to manage your own wellness and that of your loved ones. And building up Thursday’s program even further, we’ll be introducing an additional new pre-conference day, designed to deliver a deeper-level of education on a skill-set we think is critical to your blogging future. Registration for all these events will open this Wednesday, January 16th, and we’ll be announcing the full program for each of them next month.

So, to recap:

  • 1/16: BlogHer ‘13 break-out programming will be announced
  • 1/16: Registration opens for BlogHer ’13 pre-conference day, including HealthMinder Day, Pathfinder Day, and and an all-new exciting day to be announced
  • 1/17-1/31: The ROYO submission process will be open: Submit your idea and review and give feedback on all submissions
  • Programming for all tracks, pre-conference days, bars, labs, and mini-cons will be announced between now and the end of April
