I’m excited to announce the annual BlogHer 5K is scheduled for Friday, August 6, 2010 in New York City! My goal in organizing the 5K Fun Run is to give BlogHer conference attendees some time out of the hotel, exploring the city and bonding with other BlogHers through a fun, healthy event. This is not a timed race.
This year I’m pleased to offer two 5K events and a post-event breakfast, and I am partnering with Tutus For Tanner to raise awareness for Muscular Dystrophy and to honor Catherine’s nephew Tanner.
- Central Park: Run or walk through beautiful Central Park, covering a distance of about 3 miles (5K is 3.1 miles). Due to permitting issues, we need to limit the number of participants and stagger our start times. After you register, you will be assigned a start time between 6:30 and 7:15 am. You can view the route map here.
- Broadway: Run or walk a 3.1 mile loop through exciting midtown Manhattan! Start at the hotel at 6:30 am and travel down Broadway, through Times Square, and past the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, and the Museum of Modern Art. Dr. Jean Layton created this route and will serve as your guide. You can view the map here.
After the event, PepsiCo and BlogHer will provide us with breakfast and a place to gather and congratulate one another.
To register (free), you must email me with your name and email address and the event you want to participate in (Central Park or Broadway).

What makes up the perfect ice cream sundae?

Yay!
JennaHatfield June 16, 2010 - 1:09pmI picked my tutu tulle colors today. My mother-in-law told me she's going to make her daughter (my SIL) wear the tutu in the Akron marathon in September so she can see her. Heh.
