Are you interested in speaking at a future BlogHer Event? We are always looking for new and creative voices to enrich our conference programming! Below is detailed information about speaking at BlogHer Events.

To keep up with BlogHer Events you can do the following:

BlogHer Events Overview

BlogHer produces conferences that cover every topic under the sun. Whether your blogging and your expertise tend towards the Personal, the Professional, the Political, the Puff Pastry, or beyond, we will have opportunities to feature your voice.

Current Speaking Opportunties:

The Call for Ideas for both BlogHer '14 and BlogHer Food '14 have closed - you can review the existing agenda for BlogHer Food '14 here. The agenda for BlogHer '14 will be published in mid-January, 2014. While we are no longer accepting submissions for the programs, if you would like to be considered for inclusion in an existing session at either BlogHer '14 or BlogHer Food '14, please send an email to programming@blogher.com letting us know which session you feel you'd be a great fit for, and a detailed explanation as to why. Please be specific about the expertise you bring to a particular session.

What We Look For

We are passionate about our speaking roster representing the richness of our community and the blogosphere. We are committed to recruiting a heterogeneous chorus of voices, reflecting diversity across many dimensions. We are also dedicated to bringing fresh, new voices and ideas to the forefront of blogging, and to that end, we target having 80% of panelists at each BlogHer Event be new to that particular BlogHer stage.

We’re also constantly looking for experienced, strong moderators to help shepherd the panelists and the attendees in productive dialog at the sessions.

Become a Speaker at BlogHer Events

The best way to be considered as a speaker at BlogHer events is to submit yourself, your idea, or someone you are inspired by for consideration as a speaker via a Call For Ideas submission process.

The Call For Ideas lets community members submit panel, topic, and speaker recommendations for our conferences. For a detailed example from a prior Call for Ideas, you can reference this post on BlogHer.com.

We announce any Call For Ideas on our website, through social media, and through our newsletters. So, again, we recommend you:

Once the Call for Ideas has closed, your next best option is  to review the existing agenda for the event you are interested in speaking at, and then email us with a detailed explaination of the session(s) you'd be an amazing fit for. Please be specific about the expertise you bring to a particular session.

What is required to speak at BlogHer?

BlogHer speakers are not required to have previous speaking experience. We're proud that many speakers you see "on the circuit" today had their first speaking gig at a BlogHer event.

  • You will be asked to sign and return a Speaker Agreement in a timely fashion
  • We will ask for your headshot and a 400-word bio to help us promote your appearance
  • We will provide "I'm speaking" blog bling/badges for use on your site
  • We will plan a minimum of a one-hour planning call with every session at BlogHer. More complex sessions or workshops may require more prep time
  • If your session includes a presentation or educational materials, we need those materials several weeks in advance
  • We host a speaker training and orientation the night before our events begin
Note: Each speaker's Speaker Agreement will have the specific dates and deadlines associated with that event

Speaker Submissions from a PR Agency or Business

If you are a PR agency interested in helping bring your client to BlogHer Events, you can follow the channels listed out above. If you’re actually looking to get your clients or their products/services in front of the thousands of women influencers in our audience, including via a focused conference session or workshop, you may achieve that goal through sponsorship. BlogHer maintains a very strict no-shilling policy in our programming sessions.
