BlogHer Conference Update: February 12, 2010

BlogHer Original Post

Happy President's Day weekend! I hope you have a long and enjoyable weekend, regardless of weather.

First and foremost, there is still time to go to BlogHer '10 in NYC for FREE! Yes, F-R-E-E.  To get the skinny on this fabulous offer (that ends on February 15) please read Lisa's post.

Next, we have closed our call for volunteers -- and wow, we received a lot of applications! We'll be announcing our volunteers before early bird pricing ends on February 28.

Repeating that last sentence: early bird pricing ends February 28.

In this weeks conference newsletter, we talked about BlogHer vs. BlogHer Business.  If you do not receive our conference newsletter, here is the information:

BlogHer Business is the day before the big annual event, and it is a much more intimate affair, usually between 200-300 people.

While BlogHer '10 has something for everyone, from the personal to the professional to the political, BlogHer Business is a very focused day of learnings and discussion.

BlogHer Business is all about best practices for organizations that want to engage in the social media space ... for marketing, communications, customer relations, etc.

That means the programming is typically either case studies about successful campaigns in the space, or panels about how to effectively use social media tools to execute those campaigns.

The target audience for BlogHer Business is marketers, brand managers, media and communications professionals and executives who want to understand why they're being asked to approve social media programs every other day!

All that being said, there are also a lot of professionally focused bloggers who go...either those that want to consult with companies, or those that want to work with brands in the most professional way possible.

BlogHer Business is open to bloggers who want to get more insight into how organizations are thinking about and activating within the social media space. We hope the above description helps make it more clear what it's all about, but do let us know if you have questions. And you can find more info, including how to register, here.

BlogHer Food '10 is selling quickly, so if you want to join us for a two-day event in San Francisco, now is the time to register.  If you have already registered and need a place to stay, the Galleria Park Hotel is holding some rooms, first-come, first-served, for $179 per night. Use registration code 101Blogh_001.

On a side note, have a great Valentine's Day -- and if you haven't read Mata H's PALentine post, it's a great read!

Catch ya next week!
