Wow, we've made a lot of announcements this week and we have plenty of reminders too!  So let's just jump right in...


BlogHer '12 Preliminary Agenda and Room of Your Own -- it's official the preliminary agenda and Room of Your Own (ROYO) process is posted and ready for you to view! Read Polly's post, check out the preliminary agenda and find out how you can submit an idea and watch it become a ROYO.

And then, Voices of the Year (VOTY) -- another big announcement for BlogHer '12! The most anticipated event of every annual conference, VOTY is an evening keynote where bloggers are recognized for their amazing words, images, videos, and art. This year is no different! Nominate that amazing writer, yes it can be YOU, and welcome her or him to the main stage on Friday, August 3. All of the details can be found in Shannon's post.

This announcement doesn't have any fun acronyms, it's just a simple and short notification -- registration for onsite childcare is open! Again, we are partnering with KiddieCorp to provide parents a safe and fun location for the little one's while you are enjoying the conference. You can find all the details here in my post.

But wait, there is more!

We continue to accept nominations for our International Activists Scholarship for BlogHer '12. If you or someone you know is a woman blogger, living outside the United States and blogging to raise awareness, consciousness, or funding to change their community, region, nation, or the world, then please nominate yourself or such a blogger to win one of the three scholarships available this year. As with any of our programs, we encourage women to nominate themselves. Stand up and ask for the attention you deserve! Or by all means, call our attention to someone whose work deserves trumpeting.


Last week Elisa announced HealthMinder Day -- another adjunct event before BlogHer '12. HealthMinder Day is designed to be a day of inspiration, education, and connection. Specifically, it is a full, multi-track adjunct day happening Thursday, August 2nd, before BlogHer '12. The day will focus on expert information and looking at the latest tools, services, sources, and products for taking care of yourself and your loved ones. And for sharing with your online communities. Note: HealthMinder Day requires separate registration and is not included in the price of admission to the annual event on Friday and Saturday.

When booking a room at the Hilton New York it is important to know the following:

  • It's best to register with this link
  • Our room rates are only good August 1-5; dates before and after will not enjoy the discounted room rate
  • If you need to book a room before or after August 1 - 5, it is best to call in and make sure you enjoy the BlogHer rate on most of the dates -- use code BLOG and dial 1-800-HILTONS
  • If you are looking for a roomie to share expenses we have you covered. Visit our roommate forum and post your needs/wants; remember no one is perfect :-)
