BlogHer Conference Update - - July 13, 2012

BlogHer Original Post

It's the weekend and we are full steam ahead for BlogHer '12 in NYC! Now, for any of you who know me, in real life or virtually, you know I do not like the countdown.

You see the countdown kinda freaks me out but for this particular post I think it's important to let you know that we are exactly 3 weeks away from opening day of the 8th annual BlogHer Conference. And 2 weeks and 6 days away from Pathfinder Day and HealthMinder Day -- in other words, all things BlogHer!!!!!

So with that being said, let's hit some highlights of the past week or so and get you ready for the coming week(s)...let's start with announcements:

  • Geek Bar! Yes there are a few spots open -- jump on them now and get your geek on!
  • Writing Lab! Again, there are a few spots still open -- sign up today.
  • BlogHer at Home -- ah, that got your attention. How on earth can you have BlogHer at home? Read Laurie's post and get all the juicy details. Hint: it has something to do with a hashtag ;-)
  • And maybe the biggest announcement: badges...

Let's talk about badges shall we?

I know, we all know, that waiting in line for badges is the worst but it is necessary: you just have to have a badge. So given that this year, the conference is slotted to be even bigger than last year, we have upgraded our process and, believe it or not, we can say hello and have a badge printed in 8 seconds. Yep, 8 seconds. (We tried it out at BlogHer Food '12 and we were pretty happy.)

Now, this does not mean you will only be in line for 8 seconds but it means our process will be so.much.faster. Amelia notes the hours of registration in her post, so take a peek and make sure you are good to go. If you have questions, please send a note to Amelia or me.

Now this is an important reminder -- book your hotel. Our overflow hotel, the Sheraton, is selling out and we have a limited number of rooms remaining, so jump on that asap.

We also have some fun announcements next week (yes, that's a tease), so make sure to keep an eye on our conference page or sign up for our RSS feed.

Until next time...
