BlogHer Conference Update: March 19, 2010

BlogHer Original Post

Another great week, so let's just get to the good stuff!

This week, Elisa announced the 2010 version of the Community Keynote -- The Voices of the Year -- and nominations are OPEN! You can learn all the details by reading Elisa's post.

The next two items are from the Conference Newsletter, but I think they bear repeating for those of you who do not subscribe:

- Room of Your Own:

Jes and Elisa are busy at work finalizing the Room of Your Own submissions and will send out the yes or no notifications and post the agenda next week. We apologize for the delay, but as you might have seen, we've been in the middle of a relaunch of the entire site :)

- BlogHer '10 Selling or Buying a Ticket:

As you have likely heard, full conference passes to BlogHer '10 are sold out, and now we have a waitlist to attend.

Along with the official waitlist, there is always an aftermarket of those who purchased a BlogHer '10 full conference ticket, but can no longer attend and want to sell their tickets. For your convenience, BlogHer has created a ticket swap page to connect people who want to buy or sell a ticket. You may also want to keep your eyes on Twitter and the blogs for people selling and giving away tickets.

Once we've sold a ticket to any buyer through the Eventbrite system, it is that buyer's property. BlogHer will transfer a sold ticket to a new name when and only when the original buyer notifies us to do so, but we don't facilitate or control any transactions. We would like to remind everyone, buyers and sellers, to take the usual precautions you would with any online swap, exchange or transaction.

Some suggestions include: If you are buying a ticket, save your email threads. Or if you are selling a ticket, wait to receive cleared payment before transferring. The vast majority of our community members will be fair and aboveboard in all their dealings, but don't forget to protect yourself, no matter which side of the transaction you're on.

If you have specific questions, please let me know.
