BlogHer '09: An Interview with Style Guru Carson Kressley, Plus A Word About The Great Nikon Baby Incident!

Can I just tell you that although I had a fabulous time at BlogHer '09 in Chicago, I am wiped out? All those bloggers, all those sessions, all those parties!   However, get 1500 women bloggers together in one place with their laptops and their attitudes and you're bound to not only have lots of fun but maybe a bit of controversy. But first things, first.  One of the celebs that made an appearance at BlogHer '09 in Chicago was style maven and TV host, Carson Kressley.   Carson attended the conference to give out style tips, chat with BlogHers and also to represent BlogHer sponsor, Nikon and their "How To Look Good In Pictures" campaign.   To publicize the campaign, Nikon threw a swanky cocktail party the first night of the conference at Chicago's Flatwater club. ...more

Hopefully you'll be able to make it next year, children or not!  Thanks for commenting. ...more

From OSCON to BlogHer!

This week I bounced from a technical conference in San Jose, all the way to BlogHer in Chicago, and I'd like to highlight some of the great talks and the women I met at both conferences! ...more

Thanks for sharing your experiences, Liz.  I was really keen to get to OSCON but they didn't ...more

A BlogHer Experience of a Different Color

I usually try to keep things light in my blogging. Hilarious farming misadventures, terriers, and, of course, loads of coyote poo. I purposely try to restrain myself from getting too political. ...more

BlogHer Talks With Tim Gunn About Fashion, Style, and Making It Work

This past weekend, style guru Tim Gunn made an appearance at BlogHer. He spent two hours meeting and greeting conference participants, signing autographs and posing for photos. Gunn, who is most famous as the co-host of "Project Runway," is also the chief creative office at Liz Claiborne (he's the one who lured Isaac Mizrahi away from Target, which is truly the best thing to ever happen to Liz Claiborne). ...more

Tweets I'd Have Tweeted If Amtrak Had Wifi...

...or Observations From An Amtrak Virgin. first of all, CHICAGO BABY! I was lucky enough to work as a volunteer at BlogHer this year, and I decided to take the train from Dallas to Chicago. 22 hours on a train - with no-one asking me for food or drink or play time or 'where's my pink shirt?' or 'Can I go.....'? ...more

In real life I spazzed out, lost stuff, ate stuff, drank stuff, got free stuff, made new friends, held and did not drop a baby,

Blogher did not disappoint  (me), but it may have been a huge disappointment to my Facebook friends subjected to the constant barrage of #blogher tweets that pushed to my page. I’m surprised if any of them are still getting updates from me. But, I’m okay with that (not really, please unblock me from your friend feed).  I found a world where I am not strange, (maybe weird, but not strange) where I was surrounded by others as obsessed with their blogs as I am mine and where we could all be “twits” as my dad likes to hardy har har. ...more

My interview with #BlogHer09

Crossposted from Avitable.com: On Sunday, July 26th, after a short yet productive life, Twitter hashtag #BlogHer09 passed away in the hospital. She spent her entire life selflessly supporting the 2009 BlogHer Conference, and although many people may have found her annoying and a bit overwhelming, she was appreciated by many. As usual, I had the privilege of interviewing the recently deceased hashtag: ...more
