BlogHer Food '12: Day One in Tweets!

What an amazing first day of our BlogHer Food '12 conference in Seattle! Between the delicious food and the informative sessions, I'm not sure how our attendees managed to tweet up a storm, but they did. I followed along all day, learning and laughing and drooling over food. If you missed a session or are following along with our Virtual Conference at home, this Day in Tweets post will bring you up to speed -- in bite sized portions -- with today's happenings.
The morning got started in true foodie fashion with a scrumptious breakfast, of course.
As attendees finished up their delicious breakfasts, the co-founders took to the stage.
The tweets started flying when Diane Cu and (name) from White on Rice Couple took the stage. People were inspired and shared little bits of what they learned.
Then sessions began and tweets started flying like mad! At the Food Photography Trends, Beyond Pretty session, we learned a few ways that social media and blogging are changing photography as well as an important discussion on the history of food photography -- and how it inspires the way we take photos today.

One word was repeated, retweeted and regaled during the traffic building session: PINTEREST. But other things about social media were discussed as well.

At the Pushing Boundaries in Food Blogging session, people were inspired to re-think blogging.
Getting into the facts about food at the Separate Food Fact from Food Fiction and Increase Your Credibility session, attendees were pushed to think about the differences between fads and the truth about nutrition.
Lunch was, as you might imagine, good.
As the next round of sessions started, we got serious about activism and what hunger means in America.

From photos to recipes to fair use, it was all discussed in our copyright session.

Lots and lots of technical tips and important bits of advice were exchanged during the session on getting to know your blog's guts.

The discussion about the differences between cookbook and blog photography brought up many tips for improving your food photos.

Later, the laughs were deep as humor's place in food writing was discussed.
For our vlogging fans, some great video tech tips were exchanged.

Those who wanted to take their activism to the next level were inspired.
There was great advice on how to turn your food blog into a career.

Finally, the day ended with an amazing keynote.
