We Are Hustlin'

I dedicate this Blog to all the hustlers out there. Can I get a “whoop, whoop”?No, but seriously, this is for all my ladies. Being a Mom is hard, tiring work.I know, I know, being a Dad is too, please don’t private message me and comment that I am excluding fathers. I get it, but actually, in reality, I don’t, because I am Momma, so I am focusing this on motherhood....more

I Refuse to Apologize for Being Social Media Obsessed

Recently I was asked for a baby photo of myself. It took me two weeks to find one. Two weeks! My mother had taken the time many years ago to sort her five children's photos into collections for each of us to have. I think she quickly realized that my baby sister Liv, who is 15 years younger than me, ultimately, had the largest collection of us all, both in quantity and quality of the photos. I, on the other hand, maybe had five to ten hard copy photos from my first year, and I was her first child! I take that many pictures of my daughter, per day! ...more

Ten Things I Want My Daughter to Know

As you know I sent my oldest daughter off to high school yesterday. I am happy to report that she was actually excited to go back again this morning. The years are flying by and during the Summer I got the idea to write this (it was originally going to be a video) since Shelby will be 14 next month. And if you’ve been following my story then you know that 14 is really when my life got off track. I am in constant prayer for Shelby during this time and I believe I’ve made it perfectly clear what life looks like when you stray from God’s plan....more

10 Ways Motherhood Has Changed Me

My son will be turning five this year so I have been talking a lot about him to other teachers. This Spring I have to make the big decision of if he should go to Kindergarten or not. He is so young and his motor skills aren't up to par yet, but he is so very smart with an unbelievable vocabulary....more

Realization At The Park

I realized something today while taking Arthur out to the park.Seeing as it was the nicest weather we’ve had yet the park was full of happy kids and parents.  I disentangled Arthur from the Ergo and set him on the ground.  Immediately I had a mini conversation with a mother about how cute my son’s jacket is.  Another young mom came over to coo over Arthur and her little girl gave him a pat on the head....more

Because of the Hard Stuff, I'm a Better Mom - and a Better Person All Around

In the wee hours of this morning, my baby woke up. He’s actually been sleeping really well for the past five days, so when he wouldn’t go back to sleep I was a little surprised. La babe seemed pretty congested {which hopefully doesn’t signify the start of another cold!}, so I wound up rocking him back to sleep while sitting on the bathroom floor with the shower running. In the dark. Which seems to be becoming a theme in my life....more

Motherhood Is an Ever-Evolving State of Being

When I was pregnant with Miss, I read everything I could get my hands on about being pregnant, labor and delivery, taking care of a baby, the necessary gear to take care of a baby, and so on. I joined a support group for breastfeeding moms before she was even born. I extensively researched every baby item I bought, learned all about making my own baby food (bought several “cook books” for this in fact), and obsessed over having the perfect nursery....more
