My Weight Loss and Infertility Journey

Diet.  The word, just typing it, makes me want to pull my hair out and scream.  Diets are not a word I like to use that often, BUT after the doctor appointments I have been having lately. it’s a word I felt like I needed to re-evaluate. Reality bites sometimes, but hey, that’s life and we have to push forward! Today I’m talking about my battle with weight loss and a few other issues.  Talking about all of this isn’t easy, but I know that I have support behind me and I hope that maybe, if you are reading this and struggling, you’ll find comfort in knowing you aren’t alone!...more

My Daughter Asks Why 'American Idol' Contestants Are Judged on Their Looks

On Saturday night I let the kids stay up a little later. We were all kind of lazy and didn't feel like playing a game so we thought we might watch a movie. But it was past 8:30 p.m. and too late to start a movie, so instead I decided to check out the DVR to see what we had waiting for us. ...more

T’was the night before menopause, when all through my bod, Not a creature moaned or complained more than me, OMG!The Size 6’s were hung in the closet with care, In the hopes that Jenny Craig would soon take me there. My husband was nestled all snug in his bed, While visions of erotic positions danced in his head. When out on the lawn, there arose such a clatter Like when I shoved a Hooter’s waitress, carrying a taco platter....more

Writing a Chapter for a New Year

In less than two weeks I'll be 30 years old and somehow, I feel like I should have some huge plans in store or conquered some huge milestone. I've come to terms with the fact I'm not married and don't have kids (which is fine by me), and those things never really made me feel like I'd be more up to speed with life than I am now. I've always been pretty focused on making a career happen for myself, but sometimes I do question how life would be different if I'd ever taken a different path.
