In The Woods Growing Up

When I was a young girl I spent a considerable amount of time with my grandparents. My grandfather used to take walks in the woods and sometimes I would follow along with him. I remember very well how he used to take a walking stick with him even thoguh he didn't need it to get around. We walked into the woods and found an old log to sit on and he taught me just to listen and hear all the sounds around me....more

Dominoes

I love playing dominoes.  I love everything about them.  I love the sleek, cool pieces. Tiles, they call them.  I love turning them in my hand.  I love the way our set of tiles comes in an old-fashioned metal tin.  I love that once you have chosen your initial tiles and placed them in a strategically defensive line before you, backs to the other players, the superfluous ivory oblongs are put into a pile called the Bone Yard....more

Morning Routine Teetering on Chaos

I Love This Time of Year....

..for many reasons.I start to get excited at the beginning of October, starting the countdown to my birthday and then 2 months later to Christmas. I hope I don't grow out of enjoying my birthday as so many others do. I've devised a strategy to stave off maturity - save a day's holiday so that I can have my birthday off work and spend the day as I like!...more
