Baby Boomers? This is what your kids want you to understand about email.

I have a public service announcement for Baby Boomers. I’m not trying to hurt your feelings and I don’t want to be mean. You know I love you, right? But I’m taking a moment to echo what your own children have probably already tried to explain to many of you. Maybe you’ll be more receptive hearing this information from a different source, (me).Your personal email account should not be tied to your internet service provider!...more

Generation Y: On Stereotypes

I was browsing my blog reader while at my internship today and came across this article: How to think like the next generation. Which, of course, led me to What gen Yers don't know about themselves. As I read the slightly condescendingly worded article, I found myself wondering if I was part of Generation Y....more

Surfing Lessons for Generation Xers

Growing up, most of us Generation Xers were encouraged to be gracious and unassuming when stating our opinions or reaching for that brass ring. Accolades were to be earned and accepting failure was simply part of the deal. We were eager participants and grateful for the opportunity to contribute. As we matured, we dutifully developed a solid work ethic and in an attempt to "have it all" multi tasked our way into a state of perpetual busyness. This may have impressed a few, but it left us with nothing more than chronic fatigue and an intense yearning to dial it down and start listening to our internal guide. Instead of sitting on the sands of practicality ...more

Be Happy, Son: The Millenial Generation Is Not Screwed

I'm Just Sayin'

Generation X: The Unknown Variable No More!

I was born in 1967, and my life story is typical of a Generation X'er.  I grew up in what I believed was a happy home, and then, in one day, my world fell apart. My parents, after being married for 16 years, decided that life was too short not to be happy. They called my brother and me into the living room one Sunday afternoon, a week after we had spent a fun-filled vacation in Florida and with no hint they were unhappy with each other and told us that Dad would be sleeping on the couch for a while and then moving out of our house into an apartment....more
