Last night was all about a return to childhood (because in spite of what you might assume, one does NOT need to have kids - or even access to kids - in order to enjoy childlike delights!) as Peter and I spent a fun evening with a friend, her carving kit, and four unsuspecting pumpkins.
When I asked Liam what he was going to be for Halloween this year he proudly pronounced “a Fairway bag!” Clearly I have been dragging this child grocery shopping too much. Not that it is a bad thing; I think it's important our kids have a vote in some of the food we buy....more
I'll never excel at craft blogging because of my timing. I do most crafts the day before whatever we are celebrating, never weeks nor months (ha!) ahead. Being that today is the day before Halloween it's time to get crafty. ...more
I think I’ve just about aged out of the period in my life where I’m deciding what I have to be for Halloween and, instead, am deciding how close to Halloween it’s appropriate to start buying candy in bulk “for the kids who might come to our door to trick or treat.” Also, the other day some co-workers started laying down bets that I won’t be able to “say no to free food and/or candy” three months or less prior to my wedding, as I said I would. Actually, I've gone simple with my costume the last 5yrs, but who's counting. ...more
