Johnny, Cash, HurtWell that is the last time I bring him to the store, I can tell you that. Johnny acted like a monkey today, running up and down the aisles and screaming when I wouldn’t buy the cookies. He decided that he wanted sugared cereal instead of the fiber one we usually get and when I said no, well you would’ve thought it was the end of times. ...more
'"However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband." Ephesians 5:33 Do you respect your husband? You probably said yes, so now, let me ask you these questions: Do you roll your eyes when he says something you don't like? Do you criticize what he does? Do you mak...more
That’s right, recently someone’s wife made a very public declaration about a certain someone (her husband) doing whatever he wanted, wherever he wanted that she apparently didn’t like…at all! We know this because she lopped off his junk (slang for penis) then ground it into a pulp. Yeeewouch. I think I used to be funnier than I am now. I’m not sure if that’s true but it feels true. And I am not exactly sure what happened or when, but it might have something to do with the fact that it’s scarier now to be decidedly anything…out loud....more
I stood in the kitchen chopping up foodto go in the pot and somehow taste good,While I crooned to my baby and watch for my son(who thinks stopping the toilet with Barbie is fun).Red sugar beets to eat and digest, though cooking and slicing them does make a mess.My hands look all bloody after they’ve gone in the potand sliced and diced the beets and whatnot. It’s no fun with the kids, they've seen it before,But my husband is going to freak out for sure. ...more
With Independence Day upon us, I thought it would be appropriate to reflect on those serving in the military. Specifically, I want to think about my own husband who is in the military and why he is “The Man” and more. This is not to leave out military women – they are incredible and serve in ways that I know I’m not “woman enough” to even think about doing. But, for this moment I want to share why I “love me a military man”.
Reason 1: He is devoted to things bigger – way bigger – than himself.
Reason 2: He respe...more
I wish there were a word for how I feel about you right now. I wish there were some way for me to express these intense feelings I have inside. I wish there were some way for you to know my heart, see my heart, feel my heart—I want you to totally understand the love I have for you. ...more
I know relationship weren’t meant to be perfect but it seems to me that during this time that my boyfriend and I are on this “journey to understanding our relationship,” we would make a conscious effort to do things better than we’ve done before. The purpose of this journey is to understand the significance of our relationship and what sacrifices we should make in order to strengthen the relationship. However, if we are angry or frustrated with each other during this journey then it clouds the clarity that we are trying to achieve. ...more
IntroductionThere is nothing worse than all those Natural Horsemanship books and "How my horse chose me" and Horse whispering memoires. This (very practical, indeed!) blog here will be about how to apply the social knowledge and communication ability of the horse to the human. There are several principles of horse training, which are the same across every discipline, but are emphasized primarily in those Natural Horsemanship books and hence often disputed as tree-hugger-super-vegan-love-the-earth-philosophies and not taken seriously....more

Keeping Her Cool is having a blog hop with a great twist: favorite summer memories. And it fits right in with what I've been thinking about lately, which is that this month marks five years since I met my husband. Now, that doesn't sound like much, but we've really been through a lot (not even counting the twins, if that says anything), and I can honestly say he's the best thing to ever come my way. Ever. I'm incredibly lucky and incredibly in love.Would you like a pictur...more
