For the Fourth of July, or anytime this summer, here's a quick tutorial on how to always look chic in red, white and blue. -PJ GachI love Independence Day. Fourth of July fireworks, cocktails and grilling. Outdoor parties with paper lanterns waving in the breeze...all that fun stuff. What makes me slightly crazy is all the tacky Fourth of July fashions. Do you really need to have the stars on one boob, the stripes on another for a bikini? I've seen lots of cray cray 4th fashion and thought, "Ack! Let me toss up a primer." You see, you can wear red, white and blue together in an outfit and not look like an escapee clown or a costume shop reject. Read How to Get the Perfect ManiHow you make the outfit work is by utilizing the colors wisely. I'm a big fan of skinny jeans, but not because I am particularly skinny; I'm pear shaped, with a flat chest and very small waist and less-small hips and thighs. But I love the slim line of skinny jeans, and their cousin, the Audrey Pants; the look is sleek and classic and grown up. But I'm always hearing from women who say, "I wish I could wear skinny jeans, but I'm too curvy -- I look like an idiot." Anyone can make skinny jeans work, I promise. The key is fit and proportion.
I have a hard time not laughing out loud when a teenage girl walks by me in high waisted, acid washed cut-off's. "Mom jeans," I chuckle to myself. But somehow I think the joke is on me. Dear Calvin Klein,I have the utmost respect for your work and your brand, but somewhere along the way you got it wrong.I recently tried on 5 pairs of pants, including one from the CK brand.
