All for one! And one for all!

A couple of weeks ago, my husband, Marc, and I were running some errands, and we happened to find ourselves right near Alex, the cat’s, favorite place – the pet store.  Marc and I couldn’t pass up a trip to stock up on food for Alex, especially since Alex really likes to know that he has food reserves in the basement (just in case). Since Alex needs prescription food, but won’t eat it unless there is some Fancy Feast mixed in, Marc and I split up.  I was in charge of getting the “fun food”, so I finished first.  As Marc waited, I headed over to where the cats that are...more

Beginning of a Bucket List

Follow my blog "Rub Some Dirt On It" at We all have a Bucket List.  You know, things we'd like to do before we "kick the bucket."  Well, my father-in-law, who has lived in New England for twenty-five years now, had yet to take an old-fashioned sleigh ride through the snow.  It was on his Bucket List.  So this weekend, with all our family in tow, we obliged him and headed out to Billings Farm in Woodstock, Vermont...more

How SUITE it is to be loved by you

Despite the fact that getting to our Florida bound flight was a comedy of errors, my husband Marc and I had a great flight.  We arrived on time, to beautiful sunny and warm weather.  My mom picked us up at the airport and drove us to her house, where she had a delicious lunch prepared.  After visiting for a few hours, Marc and I packed up our clothes that we keep there, and prepared to head over to the hotel by the beach where we always stay. As we neared the hotel my mom asked if we wanted he...more

Where Do I Begin?

When I moved from here twenty years ago (sounds weird to think I actually made a major move that long ago) I never anticipated my return would be like this. This is exactly where I want to be in this city, just never could have dreamed it would be under these circumstances....more

Check???? Mate!!!!!

In every couple one person is more of the planner.  That person is more organized than their partner.    They may keep to-do lists or detailed calendars. They may have rituals like always putting something in the same place as not to forget it.  In other words, they are more anal their spouse.  In my marriage, hands down, my husband, Marc, is that person.  Sometimes it seems like he has lists for his lists, while I usually fly by the seat of my pants....more

This pressure is making me crazy!!!! Pt 1

I have had a pretty rough but also very heart warming and great time in the past 3 years. I met my now Fiance Doug 5 years ago and we hit it off from the beginning. Before he was my love, he was my best friend. I would do anything for him. From the first or second time I saw him I knew his mother was suffering from and had been suffering from cancer for about 31 years, and sadly it was multiple forms of cancer she had been fighting over the years, everything from Breat cancer, to lung cancer and at one point even ovarian cancer....more
