Flipping through the monthly missalette to pass the time, back in the days when I was a child and Mass seemed to last forever, I'd sing the songs in my head and read the prayers on the back. One of the hardest parts of being a parent is that you have this person in your life that you are completely responsible for, but you can't actually control. Yes, you can influence, encourage, support and punish this person. But, in the end, they are a separate individual from you and going to do things their own way and you just have to take a back seat and deal with it (preferably without losing your temper)....more
