Hunger Games : Catching Fire

I read the whole Hunger Games series.  I can't wait to see the movie today.  Being a non-avid reader of fiction, this is a major accomplisment for me to read a current book and then wait to see the movie.  I am still stuck on Harry Potter books.  The movies make more sense after reading the books.  I will write a review afterwards....more

Back to the Future

Last night I played the party game that involves writing famous people’s names on slips of paper and then trading papers with someone else. You then stick your piece of paper to your forehead (with a sizable gob of spit, or with tape if your own saliva is unappealing) and spend the next hour asking the rest of the group yes/no questions in order to guess which famous person you are.Last night, the paper on my forehead said I was Dr. Emmett Brown....more

Am I Too Old For Midnight Movies?

Notes From A Scandal

I was living in New York in 1992 when the Woody Allen/Mia Farrow scandal hit. Allegations of sexual abuse were hurled at Woody from Mia's West Side camp across Central Park and the reverberations played out across the endless 72 and larger-point headlines of the New York Post and  Daily News. And also at the movies....more
