Am I Too Old For Midnight Movies?

Notes From A Scandal

I was living in New York in 1992 when the Woody Allen/Mia Farrow scandal hit. Allegations of sexual abuse were hurled at Woody from Mia's West Side camp across Central Park and the reverberations played out across the endless 72 and larger-point headlines of the New York Post and  Daily News. And also at the movies....more

Shocker: E.L. James Took NONE of My Suggestions

Twitter and Facebook feeds are blowing up. A cure for cancer? Nope. Peace declared in Syria? Uh-uh. Finally an Ikea in St. Louis? There are rumors, but nothing confirmed. No, the breaking news heard 'round the world is that the roles for the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey have been cast....more

The New Vizio Sound Bar S4251W-B4, All of the Sound Without the Wires

One of our favorite things at the house is a movie with great surround sound. Installing surround sound used to mean running wires to all of the speakers and creating a mess that was hard to hide.  Especially if you ran it up the wall and thru the ceiling.  We were ecstatic...more

Pick Your Favorite Gale Anne Hurd Movie/TV Show

Plane crashes, terrorism, mass's a non-stop horror show. Which is why, oddly enough, I find that sometimes the perfect escape from real life fright is to spend a couple of hours in a dark theater being scared witless by a movie. ...more

What's so magic about Magic Mike?

So, I finally got around to watching Magic Mike. Honestly, it wasn't on my to-do list or anything, I'd just had a rotten day and I thought it would be a lighthearted romp with a few sexy abs to cheer me up. What I got was ... a little distressing. And not just because there was very little plot, an enormous amount of mumbling, and almost every scene seemed to be tinted green, but because there was more female frontal nudity in the movie than male nudity! Excuse me, I thought I signed up to see a movie about male strippers?...more

An "Epic" Film About Environmental Concerns

What really goes on in a forest? And why should we care? Is a forest just a bunch of creepy vines, trees too tall to climb, and annoying insects that bite and sting? Or is it a place where Nature works the magic the Earth needs every day to keep our world going strong?...more
biggreenpurse Thanks for the RT. Hope the EPIC campaign is going well!more
