Blame it on the booze, the amazing food, the intimate table seating and the fact that the celebs get to share a table with their cast and crew mates, that makes for a more relaxing and easygoing experience for everyone, not to mention the timely fashion in which they finish ... but let's get to what we really watch award shows for, shall we: TO SEE WHAT THEY'RE WEARING of course!
Today as I stand in my closet, mistress of all I survey, I am clad in my usual stay at home mom uniform – yoga pants, sweater and (mismatched) socks. This is pretty much everyday attire for me, except for the occasional lunch date, when I’ll trade the yoga pants in for a nice trouser cut jean, usually keep the sweater but throw on a scarf or belt, – voila, restaurant ready! It is a far cry from my office days, where the dress code was business attire daily, including footwear.
With that said, I look down at my shoe rack, full of forlorn, abandoned...more
Starting the year with style in mind is right up there with good health and increased energy. In short, if you care about how you present yourself on the outside, then you will feel fantastic from the inside.
Here is my Style Mantra for the year ahead:
I will “shop” more often from my own wardrobe. Even cheaper than eBay.

"How Does One Get the Polished Look?"This, or different variations of this question show up in my keywords on my blog’s stat counter every day. It seems that most women are searching for the Holy Grail of style instead of working on those spreadsheets or proposals at work!...more
In my previous life, I was a retail gal. I worked my way up from a part-time manager in training while I was in college, to being a personal shopper, store manager and eventually a visual merchandiser. Having a past in apparel retail will affect you for the rest of your life – for some, it’s the desire to color-coordinate their closets. For others, they will catch themselves sizing rounders while shopping at The Gap....more
Confession: I am envious of people that can craft and sew their way out of a paper box. Shey (Modesty is Pretty), I'm talking to you. In school, I was the kid with glue everywhere and the semi-crooked finished product. I can barely sew a button on my coat or blouse. Yes, I am that girl....more
