Friday Weigh-In

OK, so there might be something to this Weight Watchers thing after all.  Last week, I had a pretty decent weight loss, and because it was my first week on Weight Watchers, and because I had been battling a stomach virus that week as well, I pooh-poohed the results. ...more

The Weight Has Disappeared

With everything that's gone on for the last year, my weight has disappeared.  We're talking under 120 for a woman who's 5'9".  And I don't know how to get it back.Part of the problem is, that even for all my brave talk about my new adventure, I'm still feeling extremely unsettled and insecure.  Normal feelings, I know, but they go directly towards my weight.  I'm one of those women who stop eating when stressed or upset. ...more

My fasting journey begins......

I've tried it all, Weight Watchers, Atkins, crazy fitness routines, running, you name it, I've done it, all to no avail.  I am 41 years old and I have been at a complete loss as to how to take off the extra weight I've been carrying around for several years.  So, I've spent the last few months reading everything I can get my hands on, trying to find answers.  First of all, let me tell you that I am completely healthy, besides the need to lose 100+ pounds.  My cholesterol, blood pressure, resting heart rate, etc., are all well within normal ranges....more

Small Weight Loss Tips = Big Difference

Burn Off Some Extra Calories by Drinking Ice Water!

Today while I was exercising I switched on the TV to the Rachael Ray show, Dr. Travis Stork was on the show, imagine this they were discussing weight loss. I missed the first part of the program, when I tuned in Dr. Travis and Rachael were discussing how eight glasses of ice water a day can help with weight loss. This caught my attention; I usually make every effort to drink about eight glasses of ice water a day, I decided to check out Rachael Ray’s website for more details....more

Paleo: Week 1

One week of eating semi-to-mostly Paleo is in the books. How did it go? Well, I lost three pounds. I’m not going to get too excited about that because I can gain those three pounds back in about 20 minutes if I’m not careful. I feel great and my skin looks good too. I’ve been reading The Paleo Diet by Loren Cordain, I’m about 75% done and I’ve learned a lot....more
