Okay, I understand that I'm not obese. Realistically I'm only about 42 pounds over what I weighed when I got married, what I weighed during most of my 20s. I understand that I've carried and delivered 5 children and that I homeschool and stay home with them now, which adds stress and sometimes is my excuse for eating things I should not eat. I get that I have me a man and shouldn't care so much about my appearance. ...more
There's two sides to every story...This is mine
Here is my post for this week, for those following my personal journey this is gonna surprise you.
While it’s not the hottest summer on record here in New York City, it certainly feels that way, given the temps reaching 100 degrees last week. Very little motivation to get away from the desk, table, laptop, TV indoors, with the A/C blowing away.
I’ve been actively controlling my body weight for nearly 20 years and it isn’t easy as I’m a big-boned, pear-shaped woman who fights the disease of obesity everyday. The reason I know they're right is because they said out loud what I have been thinking underneath all the talk of cake and cannoli. I have been attempting to rationalize something that doesn't need or deserve rationalization....more
I have had to step back and watch myself over the last couple of days in an attempt to see what I am doing wrong that is holding me back from actual weight loss. After some intense deliberation I have come to the conclusion that I don't need a special diet. I don't need a fancy exercise program (not that it isn't a great idea.) What I need is...to be a grown up. Sigh. I knew this was coming....more
