Today's tweets from our attendees made evident that our speakers know a thing our two about taking their blog or business or big idea to that next level. Here are today's highlights!...more

BlogHer PRO '13: Day One in Tweets

BlogHer PRO '13 kicked off this morning in Silicon Valley. One of my favorite things to do during one of our conferences is to follow along with the hashtag and just revel in the amount of information being shared in 140 characters or less. Our attendees did not disappoint today, sharing bite sized bits of information that educated and inspired both those at the conference and at home. I rounded up some tweets from each of our panels today, including the morning keynote with Porter Gale and the all day long BlogHer U, and have shared them here with you. Check them out and click through the the liveblog posts in our Virtual Con to get the full feel for the day!...more
These tweets have me pumped! Wishing I was there. Looking forward to today's inspirations.more

Joanne Tombrakos is a Storyteller, Consultant and Digital Evangelist who blogs on demystifying digital for business and life at www.joannetombrakos.com.

Joanne works with individuals as well as corporations to better understand this beast we call digital. Her programs are designed to inform, educate and offer practical tools and training to keep you, your staff and your business digitally relevant and marketable. Topics range from Digital Marketing 101 - The Broad Strokes to Selling In The Age Of The Educated Consumer.

She considers herself a creative entrepreneur and is the self-published author of It Takes An Egg Timer, A Guide To Creating The Time For Your Life and a novel, The Secrets They Kept. Joanne contributes to The Huffington Post, ForbesWoman, and BlogHer. A two-time career reinventor, her previous incarnations include teaching in the public school system and sales and marketing positions for CBS and Time Warner.  She is also an Adjunct Professor in Digital Marketing at NYU with a passion for beaches, good wine and laughter.

Mr Lady is seldom a mister, and never a lady. She gave up a life of making martinis and babies - both mostly in bars - after becoming somebody's mother (x3) and somebody's wife (x1) (working on X2). She kills hamsters and cookies with ruthless efficiency, and sometimes drinks with Communists. She was also deported from Canada once. That was fun.

She's been exploiting her three children and her mommy issues online since 2005 on her personal blog, Whiskey In My Sippy Cup Shannonigans {dot} co, yo. She's been involved with BlogHer at the speaker-level since 2008, and now serves as the Content Marketing Manager at BlogHer. She fills her idle hour(s) sitting on the Board of Directors of Violence Unsilenced, a domestic violence awareness non-profit and devising digital communication strategies for companies who are terrified of the internet.

Stephanie O'Dea made a New Year's Resolution to use her slow cooker every single day in 2008 and write about it online. This simple idea resulted in a highly-trafficked website and four books, one of which spent six weeks on the New York Times best sellers list. Stephanie has appeared on Good Morning America three times, The Rachael Ray Show, featured in Real Simple Magazine, Woman’s World, and Oprah.com. She is a contributing editor to Simply Gluten Free magazine and a recipe contributor to ABC.com. She is currently on television multiple times a day in the Ninja Cooking System infomercial, and is a spokesperson for the product. Further information can be found at stephanieodea.com.

Connie Chan Wang is living the dream at LinkedIn! She currently leads social media strategy at LinkedIn where she founded and now manages the Social Media Center of Excellence. She is also the chief editor of the LinkedIn corporate blog at blog.linkedin.com and is responsible for growing and managing LinkedIn social media properties including LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.

Connie is passionate about using social media for social good. She is the Chairperson of the LinkedIn for Good Foundation, serves on the board of the American Red Cross Silicon Valley Chapter as well as Go Inspire Go.

Connie earned her Bachelor’s degree at University of Southern California and a Master’s degree at Stanford University.
