Carolyn Jung is an award-winning food and wine writer based in Silicon Valley, California. She is the recipient of a James Beard Award for feature writing about restaurants/chefs, a Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism award of excellence for diversity writing, an award from the American Association of Sunday and Features Editors, and numerous first-place honors from the Association of Food Journalists, and the Peninsula Press Club. She has judged a bevy of food contests, including the biggie of them all, the Pillsbury Bake-Off.
For 11 years, she was the food writer/editor for the San Jose Mercury News. She also was a contributor to the book, “The Slow Food Guide to San Francisco and the Bay Area.”
Currently, she is a freelance food writer for the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco magazine, Coastal Living, Food Arts, Wine Spectator, Via, East Bay Express, Oakland magazine, Alameda magazine and other publications, including the online site, Tasting Table San Francisco. She ghost-writes and tests recipes for cookbook authors. She lends expertise as a food industry/food trend consultant. Additionally, she was a judge for the 2009 James Beard Foundation Cookbook Awards.
In 2008, she created FoodGal.com, a food and wine blog that features interviews with celebrated chefs, reviews of intriguing cookbooks and products, the scoop on new restaurants, irresistible recipes, and her singular take on how food touches every aspect of our lives. In 2009, her blog was awarded second place for “Best Food Blog” in the nation by the Association of Food Journalists.
Susan Getgood has been involved in online marketing since the early 90s, and watched the web evolve from the first browsers to the interactive communities we participate in today.
In Fall 2010, Susan joined BlogHer Inc. where she currently serves as Vice President of Influencer Marketing. In this role, she connects social media influencers with the brands they love through mutually beneficial business and advertising opportunities.
As an independent consultant from 2004 to 2010, she helped organizations integrate social media into their marketing strategies to meet their customers online, build their brands and drive revenue. Clients included HP, Kaplan University, Kraft, Goodwill Industries and CamelBak as well as PR agencies, start-ups and small businesses nationwide.
Prior to that, Susan held a variety of corporate marketing and management roles including Senior Vice President of Marketing at Internet software company SurfControl, General Manager of Cyber Patrol and Director of Corporate Communications at The Learning Company.
Her professional marketing blog, where she writes about social media and marketing strategy, is Marketing Roadmaps. She also writes a personal blog, Snapshot Chronicles. Her first book, Professional Blogging For Dummies (Wiley), was published in July 2010.
Susan speaks regularly at social media conferences like BlogHer, Mom 2.0 and New Comm Forum. She is a co-founder of ethics initiative Blog With Integrity and appeared on the Today Show in April 2010 to talk about respect and responsibility in the blogosphere.
Maya Bisineer is VP, Product at SheKnows.
Maya is an experienced product executive who brings over 15 years of experience building and delivering scalable products in the mobile, web and consumer domains. She joined BlogHer as Vice President of Product in February 2014, where she manages product development strategy and innovation. Maya is uniquely adept at creating simple products that are immensely useful. Maya has broad experience working with influencers in the parenting space as well.
