BlogHer & Saturn Meet-Up: Atlanta

About the MeetUp:

After providing vehicle to bloggers carpooling to The Reach Out Tour in Boston and Washington, DC, GM & Saturn have graciously offered to host a BlogHer MeetUp for those who missed the Tour in Atlanta.  Attendees will get to lounge at the hip Twelve Hotel in Midtown Atlanta, test drive some of Saturn's amazing vehicles (including the Aura, Outlook, Sky and the brand new Vue 2-mode Hybrid), and enjoy some cocktails and hors d'oeuvres with their fellow BlogHers.  Check out their reviews here and stay tuned for future Saturn & BlogHer MeetUps.

Chequetta at The Sweet Spot Journey sees Saturn in her present and her future:

The Saturn Vue Hybrid could make it into my "Next Top Model" vehicle
search. It represents the present me; a perfect size for my family of
just me. It's safe and efficient - that's a must have for me. While the
other vehicles were equally as nice, this vehicle was more me.

Christie at The ChatterBox had a great time mingling with her fellow bloggers:

Well, any event that promises me a child-free evening complete with adult beverages is my kind of shin-dig! And this one did not disappoint! Throw in driving around in fully loaded brand new vehicles and hanging around dishing with fellow Atlanta-based blogging divas and you've got a recipe for a fantastic mid-week GNO!

Amanda at OhAmanda really dug the Saturn Outlook:

As the mom of 2, driver of a four-door sedan, hater of all things mini-van and station-wagon, this SUV was looking like candy to me. Oh, and did I mention it was one of the shiny cars at the valet? Yeah, that's how quick I am.

Kate at Momopoly enjoyed the "momraderie"of her fellow attendees:

On Tuesday night I attended the General Motors/BlogHer Ride and Drive. I had the opportunity to meet up with other Atlanta area bloggers and talk blogging, cooking, writing fiction versus nonfiction, homeschooling, and share breastfeeding and pregnancy stories. (I found the whole "momraderie" thing to be going on when I was nibbling on delish chocolate cake nodding sympathetically as a fellow mom/blogger talked about her latch-on problems with baby number two and her painful, cracked nipples. Only moms can safely bring up the word "nipples" during cocktail hour.)

Linda at Atlanta Events turned heads in the Sky, but really like the roomier Outlook:

The first thing I noticed about GM's Saturn line was the streamlined, sporty, European exteriors. On the road they could easily be mistaken for much more expensive vehicles.

Dawn at My Home Sweet Home Online relished her time behind the wheel:

This experience was just a whole lot of fun. My 15-passenger van does not respond the way that hot, little, red Saturn Sky does if you punch the gas. Not that I would do that while driving through midtown Atlanta at 5 p.m. No, not me.

Carolyn at Carolyn...Online got a peek into the BlogHer community:

But it was a glimpse for me - just a peek mind you - of what it would be like at a blogging conference. Oh, I need Tweetdeck? What is Tweetdeck? Oh, I don't do Twitter... afraid my husband would put a pillow on my face one night for microblogging. You are in which group? What does that mean? You have how many followers? Huh. And you've been blogging since when? Oh July. This July? Oh really. *sigh*

Sorry ArtsyCrafter...

This is actually a round-up page for BlogHers who attended a meet-up this past fall.  We've got some other great events on the calendar though, so stay tuned!

Kudos to Saturn from a loyal customer

Just wanted to put in another plug for Saturn, which is the best part of GM, in my opinion.  Just bought my second Saturn, a 2009 Aura, after 10 years of faithful service by my first Saturn, a 1998 Saturn SL.  I posted an amusing story about customer service, my new Saturn and my terrific "posse" aka the Service Department at my local dealership, here on my blog:  "Customer Service"

My new car has gotten lots of admiring comments from my friends, as well as strangers in parking lots!!  It's perhaps not quite as sexy as the Saturn Sky, but more practical for my needs.  And the color (seagreen/blue) matches my eyes.
