The Day After BlogHer 2011: R&R

After two crazy, wonderful days at BlogHer 2011, Sunday was a day of rest.  Or, perhaps simply more “restful?”Lisa and I took off for a seven mile walk/hike.The weather was perfect, the scenery was gorgeous, it felt awesome to sweat and move but, as always, the conversation was the best part....more

Reward from BeverlyHillsMom for return of lavendar scarf! No questions asked!

Hi Ladies I am really upset that I lost large square lilac colored Louis Vuitton scarf/shawl. It was my Mother's Day gift this year and has a great deal of personal sentimental value. My husband went to great lengths to find it for me in my favorite color, so my heart is aching over admitting that it is lost. It was definitely dropped somewhere between the Sails Pavillion at lunch and the sidewalk at the midpoint between the Convention Center and the Marriot. It fell from my bag and was likely picked up off the ground....more

Why BlogHer '11 was a Defining Moment

Going to a conference that was primarily women and with over 3,000 in attendance proved to be overwhelming and daunting for me. And life changing.  And all because of my last minute decision to attend the "Owning Your Beauty..." panel session....more

Women Bloggers Are Good for Business - A Review of BlogHer '11

This was my second year attending the BlogHer annual conference in lovely San Diego (is the weather there ever bad?) Last year I went representing Owning Pink and this year I was there again for Owning Pink and my own blog, Reclaiming Leadership. Once more I came away with hope for the planet because of all the smart women I met who are blogging out of love and to make a difference for themselves, their families and the world. Blogher 11 - Managing Expectations and the Ford Family Party

Blogher 11 did an amazing job of making me feel special. From sponsors and vendors going out of their way to get to know me to develop a relationship and uniformed servers handing out cute little hor d'oeuvres on trays at every corner as we walked through the convention center, to over the top parties every night, to extremely thoughtful giveaway packages, everything about this conference combined to make us blogging women feel at home, and cared for and respected....more

Vikings QB Bomar reportedly arrested on suspicion of DUI

Vikings quarterback Rhett Bomar was arrested early Sunday morning in Mankato, Minn., for alleged drunk driving, according to the Star Tribune. The newspaper reported that he was taken to Blue Earth County Jail, but had been released by Sunday evening. Bomar, 26, was signed by the Vikings off the New York Giants practice squad in late December. He is unlikely to make the Vikings roster, with Donovan McNabb, first-round pick Christian Ponder and Joe Webb all getting practice reps in front of Bomar. Bomar was a fifth-round draft pick in 2009 after playing two seasons at Sam Houston State....more
