Lighter Deviled Eggs Two Ways: Thai Red Curry and Wasabi

Easter is by far one of my favourite holidays, and not just because of the egg decorating! It’s a time of new life, awakening and newness–just the line of thinking we need after the awful, awful winter we just had. Long before the Easter bunny came hopping along, eggs were given as gifts on Easter Sunday to commemorate rebirth and the end of Lent. What a treat that must’ve been after the forty egg-free days leading up to Easter! ...more

Agave + Soy Baked Chicken

Sofia has a new obsession, it's cute and it's gross but she can't get enough, "bug-E!" We spent 30 minutes before bedtime out on the deck when she saw an ant, every neighbor I'm sure heard her yelling "bug" "BUG-E" "ewwww" "bug bug bug" - she gets real mad when they crawl between the plank & yells "BUGGGG-E!!!" then runs away when they appear, with a hysterical "I don't know if this is funny or freaking me the f out" laugh. I love watching her explore the world around her, things that are always there but she's just now noticing....more

Coconut Cupcakes with Lemon Curd and Lemon Cream Cheese Icing

Coconut Cupcakes with Lemon CurdThere is something about coconut cupcakes that remind me of Easter. They do look a little like nests if you let your imagination soar. Also, it’s probably because my grandmother would make coconut cupcakes for Easter. She dyed the coconut green, sprinkled it on top of the vanilla icing and put colorful jelly beans in the nest. All her grandchildren thought they were wonderful and they were....more
