What Do Resolutions, Omaha, and Chicken Have in Common?

The top New Years Resolution is to lose weight.  People stock up on lettuce, sign gym memberships, and cry in despair when the scale doesn’t budge by the third day (or is that just me?).  Since the holiday season is over (until next year, National Pie Day), it has been much easier to avoid work potlucks and the tempting tin of iced cookies.  It has been a month since resolutions started, but this weekend will be a dietary game-changer (see what I did there?)....more

Super Bowl Peanut Butter Puppy Chow

One of the most obvious categories that is lacking in my Recipe Box is the snacks section. I don't usually post too many recipes in that category because my daily snacks are pretty boring. A sliced apple, various handfuls of whatever I have in the kitchen... nothing post worthy. Since Super Bowl Sunday is the king of snacking days, I knew I had to step up my game and have a really good bowl of munchies around the television....more

French Macarons a special Valentine's Day treat for your Sweetheart!

Super Bowl Sliders

Right behind Christmas and Thanksgiving, Super Bowl Sunday ranks as the third largest occasion for Americans to consume food, according to the National Football League. Some people revere this game-viewing day as a national holiday. It certainly is a great excuse to invite a bunch of friends over for food and fun. I’ve always wondered why NFL doesn’t move the game to Saturday to give us all a chance to recover from, ummm, over imbibing on all this food and adult libations but I guess that will be next year’s rant....more

Microwave Sea Salt Caramels? Yes, Please

As someone who adores caramels and as someone who likes to make presents, I have pinned nearly every possible recipe for homemade caramel.  All looked amazing and all seemed difficult for me to do.  Who owns a candy thermometer? ...more
