Chocolate Coconut ("Bounty") Oatmeal

After a wonderful delivery of some Alpro Coconut Original arrived on my doorstep I knew it was going to make a spectacular appearance in my breakfast somewhere, and seeing as I’m on a chocolate oat roll the combination of coconut and chocolate just seemed logical! It’s delicious and creamy and tastes like a melted bounty bar in oatmeal form. Dessert for breakfast – what more could you possibly want?!...more

Lentil and Kale Dahl

This is my absolute favourite curry at the moment (although my boyfriend would disagree – mango curry is his favourite!), and was also featured on the Organic Burst OB Life page (link here) yay. I like to make a large batch and then eat it over the next few days as it tastes even better after a day or two in the fridge (not for longer though!)....more

Raw Almond Butter Balls

I’m on an almond butter craze at the moment, I think I’ve eaten it every day recently without fail. But when it’s something that is so good for you with so many healthy fats and protein then why not? I have been saving this recipe for a few weeks because I wanted to truly perfect it and oh wow it is just fantastic....more

Quinoa Avocado Sushi

Most of the time I’m too lazy to put a lot of effort into my lunch, so I generally go for a (mostly) raw salad that takes 5-10 minutes to put together. But sometimes it’s nice to have something a little more fancy, and so enters my quinoa avocado sushi. I prefer to use quinoa as it’s quicker to cook than brown rice plus it contains a lot of protein, and adding mashed avocado to it really helps it all stick together just like sushi rice would. For the fillings you can use anything you like! In the images below I used cucumber, orange pepper, and purple cabbage....more

Potato and Leek Soup And A New Toy From Sainsbury

A basil plant! It cost us GBP1.19, which, we thought was reasonable, but that is assuming it doesn’t wilt within a week and the seedlings do continue to grow. It was an interesting experience for the both of us, primarily because we’ve never consumed anything freshly plucked from a plant, and also because we’ve never taken care of anything else other than ourselves....more
