Nude Photos! (Just kidding. Why The Content of Stolen Photos Doesn't Matter.)

I usually don't have much to say about celebrities and their nude photos, serial marriages, sex tapes, dubious diet plans, and questionable expertise on scientific and medical issues. But I want to say something about the actress Jennifer Lawrence and her nude photos, which, if you haven't heard, were stolen when someone hacked the cloud-based service on which she had stored them. Awareness, Laughter, and Support - All for a Cure of ALS

Most people have heard of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.  It is a charity effort that has gone viral on the Internet. When suspects are brought in, we watch the headlines hoping these monsters have been taken off the street, only to find they've just hit a dead end. This couldn't be more true than with the murder of Elizabeth Short; AKA, The Black Dahlia....more

Why I Didn't Do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

My news feed has been taken over by friends and family participating in the ALS ice bucket challenge.  I'm impressed by the sheer number of individuals who have stepped up and learned something about ALS, donated, or dumped a bucket of ice water on their heads in solidarity. It's really cool to see so many people rally for one cause. But I have not participated. ...more
