Annie Zaidi
Annie Zaidi has worked as a journalist for about eight years. Her blog began as an extension of her work for a fortnightly news magazine, which entailed a fair amount of travel, investigating and reporting on diverse subjects ranging from public health to female foeticide, sewage to scavenging. Despite a fulfilling and demanding writing job, there was more to say than could be said within the covers of a magazine. Hence, the blog, which has had more than 150,000 visitors. Blogging has led to more detailed essay on child protection policy (which appeared in ‘India’, an anthology of contemporary writing published by ISBN, Italy), a book deal, and deeper involvement with online/offline activism.
She also writes poetry, fiction, non-fiction, drama, blog posts, reports, reviews and (in a dark, distant past) recipes she never actually tried. She currently lives in Bombay.
