Elana Centor

These days Elana wears three professional hats: marketing communication consultant, facilitator, and blogger. Social Media is a big part of her practice these days. Elana has been an independent marketing communication consultant since 1997 working with major Fortune 100’s as well as small non-profits. Elana has extensive experience in financial services and health care marketing. Prior to that she was co-owner of Centor Freed, a marketing communication agency she operated for 20 years. She started her career as a TV reporter in Richmond, Virginia. Since 2004, Elana has been a passionate blogger. Her subject matter is business culture. She has served as a contributing editor on Business for BlogHer since it's launch in 2006.She is the recipient of numerous writing awards. When she is not working, Elana enjoys working out, reading, knitting, needlepoint and on occasion creating a gourmet meal. Elana has two children she adores. Noah, 24 who is currently working on the political campaign for U.S. Democratic Congressional hopeful Terri Bonoff ;and Berit, 19, a first year student at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C. A resident of Minneapolis since 1978, Elana grew up in a small town in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia.
