's New Home Page, Taxonomy and Blog Post Pages

BlogHer Original Post

Yes, we've done it, again! We've launched a brand new home page, relaunched our topic level navigation, and our individual post pages -- all of which will help you find the content you care about.

We know that each visitor who comes to comes for a slightly different reason. Some of you come looking for the best blogging by women on the internet, some of you come looking for conference information, others come for a look at hot social media research, and some of you come to not knowing what, exactly, you're looking for. That's why we've launched a new home page that provides visitors with a sneak peek into every aspect of BlogHer, Inc. No matter what it is that brings you to BlogHer, the new homepage will help you find it faster.

Our hottest blog posts are featured in a rotating promo box at the top of the page with more links to more great blog posts right next to that. Or you can dive into your favorite topic from the top level navigation or by clicking the links on the right sidebar.

If you're looking for Conference, Publishing Network, Research, Promotions & Prizes, or Advertising info -- you'll find that quickly by clicking the appropriate promo box right in the main content well. Those of you who want to access all of the latest blogging content can do that, by clicking the "BlogHer Editorial" link, underneath the first promo box. (Don't worry, our original homepage hasn't gone away -- you can bookmark it for quick access, if you prefer.)

Our new main topics and sub-topics were developed based on feedback from our contributing editors, BlogHer Publishing Network members, and members of the community who've taken the time to tell us which topics they really care about. These new categories will help you focus on the specific topics you want, and follow the most recent stories within those sections. Click around, find your favorites, bookmark them or subscribe to them via RSS so you always know what's happening within your community.

After you've checked out the new topics menu, click a blog post -- or since you're reading this blog post, check out the left side of the page and you'll see a mini version of my profile. My photo, my bio, a link to my main blog, and links to my most recent posts on If you create a blog post on, your blog post will look just like that, so make sure you've updated your profile with a photo, a bio, and links to your blog. We've brought the blogger's profile into the spotlight where it belongs -- where you, the writer, belong! This is your work being featured on BlogHer and we want to make sure everyone who reads your post can become your biggest fan by visiting even more of your work.

I believe these changes will help us shine the spotlight on the content you care about -- and the content that you create. Wander around, click some links, and check out the FAQs. I'll be here to answer questions you have and look forward to hearing any feedback you'd like to share.
