The five major issues for me are:
1. The health care mess. This includes the need for a single payer system that will leave no American uninsured, the need for a plan that controls drug prices, and the need for a plan that eliminates corporate need/greed from the equation in favor of the people's needs.
2. Protection and improvement of the natural systems of the earth. This includes global warming, species elimination, and all kinds of green building, manufacturing and technology.
3. Get out of Iraq. We should not have gone there in the first place. Staying is doing us no good.
4. Put education back in a place that includes more than just studying for a test. Creative thinking, broad learning, analytical thinking, and true mastery need to be rewarded teacher incentives, not test scores.
5. Raise the minimum wage. People work hard and still can't make a living, can't be independent.

Great Post!
I definitely agree that healthcare reform, stewardship of the Earth, peace, education reform, and poverty are all key challenges facing the next president. Thanks for sharing :-)
