Blogging women everywhere are in love with the new show Damages on the FX network which stars Glenn Close as mysterious legal hotshot Patty Hewes and Rose Byrne as her "damaged" new associate, Ellen Parsons. Ted Danson, Tate Donovan (previously on The O.C.) and Zeljko Ivanek (previously on Homicide: Life on the Street, Oz, 24 and Lost among many other shows) are also featured in the strong cast.
I've been watching the show and find that the perfectly paced blend of present time action, flashbacks, flash forwards and genuinely surprising twists have hooked me and keep me coming back for more. Along with Burn Notice it's my favorite new scripted show of the summer.
Here on BlogHer, member LoveBabz comments (on a post about Grey's Anatomy) writes:
I have given up on GA too. For all the reasons you posted. My new show of choice is Glenn Close's Damages on FX now that show is FABULOUS!
Another BlogHer member, MSmith is recapping Damages because Glenn Close demands it. Check out her personal blog Megan's Minute to follow along with her insights.
And here is a sampling from around the blogosphere of more Damages love (please note that spoilers abound at these links - click only if you're prepared to know):
Lisa Timmons, Editor at A Socialite's Life is "hooked" and finds:
it's hard to resist constantly posting pictures and interview snippets here on ASL. It's a compelling argument against those television snobs who argue that scripted television is losing the battle against trashy reality TV
Empress Eve at Geeks of Doom notes:
While all of this intrigue can be frustrating, it’s also refreshing because no one is so predictable that you guess what’s going to happen next.
scribegrrrl at After Ellen is most definitely a fan:

The Crazy Hip Blog Mamas predicted correctly that they are hooked on Damages and they have a give away for a lucky reader.
Damages is one of Laurel's TV Picks
At the site Fans of Reality TV they proclaim:
"I don't wear pants and I don't adhere to the rules of society! I'm a rebel!" -- All non-reality TV shows.
Member Florimel proclaims:
Wow! Not since "Lost" has any pilot show kept my attention riveted as "Damages" did last night.
And, Java Jane wants to know: "Are You 'Damaged' Yet?"
If you are already hooked or are looking for more evidence that you should be, check out the show's interactive site Hewes & Associates. There is a combination of features as if the site was for a real-life law firm (including a blog written from the perspective of an anonymous associate dishing on the boss) and insights into the show like the interactive clue finder.
There is also a community site where member LadyJ777 provides a link to watch the first three episodes online. There are also frequent repeats both on FX and My Network TV and the show is available on iTunes.

Damages...my new drug of choice
This is such a good show that I have to post again why I love it. 1) you never see women in these tough multi-dimensional roles 2)who does bitch/madonna better than Glen Close? 3) This is a show for grown-ups. Finally a television program where there is duality of good/bad in each character.
I am HOOKED Baby!

Can't wait to get home and watch
I LOVE this show. I was hoping that it would live up to all the premiere hype that FX had going weeks in advance. It definately delivered!!!
My reaction, too
Thanks for your comment, Unnaturally Blonde.
I had a similar reaction. There was a lot of hype to live up to and although I was still a bit skeptical even after the first episode, it really has delivered and I find myself looking forward to unraveling the mystery a bit more every week.

Even a lady lawyer...
loves it!!!
For me it isn't the legal aspect of the show, it's the "who dunnit" element that's so compelling. Like a game of Clue combined with elements of that movie...(can't remember the name) where the guy tatooed facts all over his body to remind him of who, where, how and why...and the timeline of the movie was in reverse chronological order...?
Anywho, I'm hooked too!
