Blogqueers: LGBTQ Bloggers

Queer bloggers are in every corner of the blogosphere, and sometimes our identities are part of our blogging though sometimes they are not.  We are mommybloggers, lifebloggers, craft bloggers, garden bloggers, foodies, business and marketing SMS pros, political pundits, infertility bloggers, lit bloggers, special topic blogger and just bloggers who don't fit into any niche.

Our identities bring many particular issues to our blogging since we blog through the lens of being queer. A Room of Our Own is the perfect place for us to get together and talk about some things that come up when blogging our queer little hearts out.  What is the state of the state of the LBGTQ blogging community?  Does it meet all of our needs? Do we feel accepted by straight bloggers in our niche? Do we feel safe to blog out of the closet? Have haters threatened us? How do we deal with our partners' and friends' privacy issues?  There can be a lot of pressure surrounding gay politics, especially this year on issues including gay marriage. Does politics fit into your blog or choices? Are we effective? What about if you do not want to take political stands on your blog? Are you able to hold that line without cost? How can we best network with our amazing straight allies? Most importantly, what support do you need to continue blogging with your fullest passion and truest voice?

Kathryn Martini from Recovering Straight Girl <http://www.recoveringstraightgirl.com/>, LeAnn Locher from LeLo in NoPo <http://lelonopo.blogspot.com> and Deb Rox from Deb on the Rocks <http://www.debontherocks.com/> hope you'll join us speaking and attending an important session for Blogqueers!
