Blue and Yellow
By PippaPatchwork on August 14, 2012
Finally– after days spent typing rather than sewing, and a weekend spent tax-free shopping for the new condo– I finished up a commission that’s long been in the works.
I’ve been making quite a few custom baby quilts these days and I have to say, people are getting wonderfully creative with nursery color schemes. The days of all-pink and all-blue seem to be behind us.
Obviously, this would be for a blue and yellow baby room. Love that!
Nothing you haven’ seen before– a combo of regular and reverse applique, and swirly free-motion quilting to accentuate the circular motifs.
And I don’t mean that in a bad way– I take great comfort in returning to tried-and-true designs. You may recognize this from its earlier orange and circular version.
I have quite a few more deadlines that are fast approaching, but I can’t remember the last time I sewed just for me, for fun! So I’m taking tomorrow to work on a little project that I just can’t get out of my head… hopefully it materializes into something that’s at least partially as cute as what I’m imagining.
